Carma definitely restored my faith in Tullamarine car rental companies. Hannah was super friendly. Pick and drop off was a breeze. Car got 700kms on one tank. No complaints at all. Thanks team!

Absolutely! Here’s a review you could post: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect Cruise Port Car Rental for Exploring Hilo We rented a car during our cruise stop in Hilo, and the entire experience was incredibly easy. The rental location was just a short walk from the cruise port, conveniently located across from the general store, making pickup and drop-off simple and stress-free. The car was clean, reliable, and perfect for exploring the island. We spent the day driving through the lush scenery of the Big Island and visiting the breathtaking Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. Having our own vehicle gave us the freedom to stop whenever we wanted for photos, scenic overlooks, and local attractions. If you’re arriving by cruise ship and want to make the most of your time in Hilo, I highly recommend renting a car here. It was one of the highlights of our trip and allowed us to experience so much more of the island than we could have otherwise. We would definitely rent from them again on our next visit! 🌋🚗 A fantastic way to see the Big Island in just one day!
I will break my car rental experience (November, 2025) into 3 parts: Turo, car provider and vehicle. Turo. First time to use this app. Overall, simple and intuitive to use. It is a good option when compared to the traditional car rental companies. It was really nice not having to wait at the service rental counter. Car provider. Once you finish with the Turo process, you finalize all the details with the car owner. Daniel was exceptional to work with. He was timely and thorough with his responses to all my inquiries. Our flight arrived earlier than scheduled. I contacted Daniel and he had the car immediately available for my use. He was honest and trustworthy. At the end of the trip, I identified what I thought was a new chip in the paint. He reported it was present before the rental and not an issue. There is comfort in knowing there was no hidden agenda. Vehicle, Toyota Corolla, 2015. Don't let the age or size of the car deter you. The car was clean, dependable and satisfied all of my needs for 2 people. Hawaii may be dramatic with its natural wonders, but it is stingy with the parking spaces and roads (think road to Hana and Haleakala Volcano). We were happy to be driving this car instead of the SUVs and Jeeps that populated the parking lots and narrow, twisting roads. Overall, I would recommend Turo and HIGHLY recommend Daniel and his Toyota Corolla for your car rental needs in Maui.

Everything about this trip and this car rental was amazing. It was very easy to pick up the car. The car was very clean and have a full tank of gas. I would absolutely rent a car with turtle again.
Great car rental service with wonderful customer service! Me and my wife got a nice camaro ss , we drove around the island with the top down and had an amazing time. The best customer service ever, got some tips to make our trip easier. Definitely will rent a car for next vacation with them.
David was communicative, pickup and drop off was easy with clear instructions, car drove well, overall very satisfied with our experience. Great cost friendly alternative to bigger car rental companies with a lot more flexibility, but come with the right expectations (i.e. don't expect a squeaky clean car)
This trip was amazing because of our car rental. It was super clean and drove really well. Great on gas. The host was also very attentive and nice :) 10/10 recommend.

The car was spotless, well maintained, and drove beautifully. Pick up was quick and easy. The car owner was friendly and also offered, and dropped us off to the airport as we had traveled from Melbourne. The car was exactly what I needed comfortable, fuel efficient, and reliable. Would absolutely rent from here again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a hassle-free car rental experience.

Amazing experience with both the car and the host! The vehicle was clean, well maintained, and exactly as described. Everything worked perfectly, and the car made the trip even more enjoyable. The host was very friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout the whole rental process. Communication was easy, pickup and drop-off were smooth, and overall everything felt professional and stress-free. Highly recommend renting from this host — definitely would book again!
Pick up was easy, car was very tidy, car was well maintained. Best car rental so far 🫡
Great service. Car was perfect. So much easier than dealing with rental cars
I enjoyed using this car for my solo trip to Brisbane and back. Easy to use. Has built in navigation and Bluetooth to connect my phone (for music). Host was easy to deal with. Responded promptly. Price also good.

Absolutely amazing experience renting this Mustang through Turo! The car was clean, well-maintained, and an absolute blast to drive. Everything about the rental process was smooth and easy from start to finish. The owner was incredibly friendly, responsive, and made the whole experience stress-free. You can tell they really care about both the vehicle and their guests. I would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend this Mustang to anyone looking for a fun and reliable ride!
Car quality was awesome. Comfortable and spacious and neatly tidy and well taken care of. Car rental was awesome and smooth and easy and comfortable. Thank you so much Zerin! Mahalo. Hope to rent from you again for more trips coming up.
Very happy with my car rental. Vehicle worked great for going around the island. the pickup and drop off process was super easy and smooth and the host very reliable. Would rent again.

The car did everything we needed it to do. We felt like a local, the car was certainly clean for the price. I would rent again because the price was right and it was great on gas. Like an ant sipping water. Pick up and drop off was easy enough. Took us a few min to find the car then it was very easy to drop off. Mahalo.
Every thing went smoothly fast easy pick up, car was immaculate, & great value , overall great car rental experience
The host gave us clear instructions and communicated with us very well for a hassle-free car rental!

After booking your car hire at Sunshine Coast Airport, use the Turo app to confirm all the pickup and drop-off details with your host. Best known as the home of the Irwin family, Australia Zoo is one of Queensland's most recognisable wildlife experiences. You can wander through open enclosures, watch daily crocodile shows, and learn about conservation from the experts who continue Steve Irwin's legacy. It's about a 30-minute drive from Sunshine Coast Airport, and a great option for anyone keen to get up close with Aussie wildlife.
Noosa Heads draws visitors for its national park, turquoise-blue waters, and relaxed coastal lifestyle. Walking tracks curve around the headland, revealing sheltered beaches and breathtaking lookout points. Hastings Street is packed with boutique shopping and dining, perfect for a post-beach snack or a relaxed night on the town.
A true Sunshine Coast icon, Woombye's Big Pineapple is one of many 'big things' you’ll spot in regional Australian towns. There's more to do here than just gaze up at a gigantic piece of fruit — drift through the surrounding markets, visit the on-site wildlife attractions, or embark on a treetop adventure. If you've got time and your own set of wheels, it's a quirky attraction everyone needs to see once.
It helps to get familiar with the Sunshine Coast's local driving conditions before you hit the road. Here's what to expect as you explore the region.
Bypass the car rental building and all the queues that come with it when you book on Turo. Once your booking is confirmed, simply message your host in the Turo app to arrange a pickup point close to the airport, like an airport hotel, parking garage, or local street. When you arrive, head to that location and follow instructions to collect the keys, whether you meet in person or grab them from a secure drop box. Keep in mind, pickups and drop-offs cannot occur on airport grounds.
At the end of your trip to the beautiful Sunny Coast, return the vehicle to the same location you collected it from, or coordinate another suitable spot nearby in advance using the Turo app. Leave the keys somewhere secure as arranged, and if you're parking in a garage, leave the entry ticket inside the vehicle so the vehicle can exit safely.
Sunshine Coast Airport is around 10 to 15 minutes from the centre of Maroochydore, depending on traffic. Once you collect your rental car, it's a straight shot along the Sunshine Motorway, giving you easy access to beaches and shopping in the heart of town. If you're staying in another suburb like Noosa Heads, Coolum Beach, or Caloundra, expect a longer drive of anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour.
The Sunshine Coast is a pretty relaxed place to drive, with a suburban feel, coastal scenery, and well-maintained roads. Road rules in Queensland are the same as the rest of Australia — always drive on the left-hand side, wear your seatbelt, adhere to speed limits, and obey signage. Speed limits start at 40 kilometres per hour (km/h) in school zones, followed by 50 km/h in suburban areas, 60 to 80 km/h on bigger roads, and 100 to 110 km/h on motorways.
Though traffic is much less of an issue than in Australia’s capital cities, roads can still get backed up during peak commuter times and busy travel periods, especially around Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, and Caloundra. In the summer, expect heavier traffic around popular beaches, entry points to national parks, and larger shopping precincts like Maroochydore's Sunshine Plaza.
In Queensland, it's illegal to make a U-turn at an intersection unless there's a sign explicitly permitting it. You're also only allowed to use your horn (or 'beep' someone, as Aussies like to say) to alert another driver of a safety hazard — it's a little-known fact that road rage-related honking carries a hefty fine!
Heading out to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland? Always keep an eye out for wildlife, especially at dawn and dusk. Be sure to take your time on narrow or winding inland roads, and take note of animal crossing signs to avoid any near misses.
Parking on the Sunshine Coast will vary radically depending on what you're doing. At shopping centres, expect an easy experience — most malls, including Sunshine Plaza, Kawana Shoppingworld, and the Stocklands in Baringa and Birtinya, have car parks with ample spaces.
However, along the area's glittering coastline, it's a different story. In the heat of summer, head down early to ensure you get a spot, whether you're relaxing on quiet Marcoola Beach or enjoying the hustle and bustle of Noosa. Most beaches have paid or timed street parking available.
There are no toll roads anywhere on the Sunshine Coast, making it simple to get around without worrying about passes or additional fees. However, if you decide to make the trip down to Brisbane, there are several toll roads here. Always plan your journey ahead of time, and use the app to confirm payment options.
Whether you're driving a fuel-based or electric vehicle through the beautiful Sunshine Coast, it's not hard to find a place to fill up. Petrol stations are spread throughout towns and dotted along major roads like the Sunshine Motorway, from providers including BP, Shell, and Caltex. As you exit Sunshine Coast Airport along David Low Way, there are two convenient petrol stations nearby — a 7-Eleven to the east and a BP to the south.
Electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are growing across the Sunny Coast, but currently, most chargers are located in shopping centres, car dealerships, and corporate buildings. Try Sunshine Plaza in Maroochydore (154 Horton Parade), Noosa Junction Transit Centre (Lanyana Way), and the University of the Sunshine Coast in Sippy Downs (90 Sippy Downs Drive).
Public transport is available across the Sunshine Coast via local buses and limited rail connections further inland, but services can be infrequent and don't always reach beaches, the hinterland, or popular hiking spots. If you want total flexibility, having a rental car is the best choice. Book your car rental at Sunshine Coast Airport, then explore the region to your heart's content, from Caloundra to Coolum and beyond.
You'll find a wide range of vehicle types available on the Sunshine Coast from Turo, including compact cars, premium SUVs, traditional sedans, electric vehicles, minivans, and more. Enjoy a comfortable escape in a luxury vehicle like the BMW M4 or Range Rover Sport, or take a family trip in an crossover like the Holden Trax or Honda HR-V. There are long-term deals to be found on the Turo marketplace to save you some money on your visit. No matter which rental car you choose, you'll always receive the exact make and model you selected at checkout.
The cost of car rental in the Sunshine Coast can vary depending on car type, booking length, extras, and delivery. For cheap car rental in the Sunshine Coast, look out for discounts on longer-duration bookings and early bookings.
