Mount Wellington

For uninterrupted views of Hobart and surrounds, it’s well worth hiking or driving up Mount Wellington. The mountain sits just outside the city and takes about three hours to walk up or 30 minutes to drive. No matter how you choose to get up the mountain, be prepared for a steep incline!

Battery Point

Battery Point has quickly become one of Hobart’s hippest suburbs, filled with historic architecture, trendy cafes, artisan bakeries, and local boutiques. Make sure to take a stroll down Hampden Road, the area’s main retail strip. It really feels as if you’ve stepped into a bygone era.

Salamanca Market

Every Saturday morning, locals and travellers descend on Salamanca Market. The market contains a mix of stalls selling everything from locally grown produce, baked goods, and deli items, to clothes, accessories, gifts, skincare, and more.
