There's some issue with the car, yet the host act quickly and get us back on the road.

The Cairns Airport pick up was easy and smooth. Jacob provided the necessary info ahead of time and it was easy to pick up and check-in. The car (blue Volkswagen Golf) itself was disappointing. There was very obvious damage (and previous repairs) that were not reflected in the original pictures of the car. It appears to have large scratch across the windscreen along the drivers side which is frustrating, and some scrapes on the body. It also has a trashy looking black stripe on the side. The car is approaching 300,000km miles, and 10+ years in age and it shows. Additionally, the drivers seatbelt has a lot of fraying. This is a safety concern and would be an MOT fail in the UK - therefore not fit to drive. However, the car was mechanically fine - it didn't rattle, it started without a hiccup and I would trust it to complete any journey put to it. I would happily recommend renting from Jacob but ideally look to his other car options unless you can see past the specified issues with this VW Golf.

Thanks for the review and I agree the car runs like a dream and is mechanically great with the amount of kilometres. The car was damaged by previous guest so I did a temporary fix on the door with the tape to make it available for you and not leave you stranded while it’s waiting to go in for repair.
All these issues including the door/panel, windscreen and seatbelt are all being fixed and I apologise again if you weren’t completely happy but these will be fixed for next guest
