The car was in good condition, a bit dirty, and some of the controls didn't work.

The vehicle pick up went well and the vehicle itself rode nicely, was clean…everything you’d expect when paying to rent a car. So the experience was lovely until the battery died while I was in 100 degree weather.
I tried to contact the host through the TURO app and while it loaded, I received error messages of “Sorry! Something went wrong. Please try again later”. Therefore, I was unable to send a message to the host or contact roadside assistance through the app. I repeatedly tried for 26 minutes, then decided to contact my own insurance company for roadside assistance.
Two hours later, when I got back to my Airbnb, the app was working again so I messaged the host. She immediately sent someone to replace the battery (which I greatly appreciated and tipped the technician). However, when I asked the host about reimbursement of my out of pocket costs, she said I should’ve contacted her first. It’s like she completely skipped over me saying I tried to contact her but the app wasn’t working. I provided several screenshots with timestamps showing the intervals of the outage. She then replied to contact TURO directly, as they handle payments, refunds and reimbursements. I realize that’s the procedure but I was greatly disappointed in her lack of customer service. Her vehicle’s battery died (which she couldn’t necessarily prevent) but it isn’t my issue. If I’m providing evidence that there was no way for me to contact her over the course of two hours, I believe she should’ve done the right thing by reimbursing me, then she recoup the funds from TURO. That’s what I feel would’ve been the decent thing to do. Instead she just gave me their number and said call them. I don’t appreciate the lack of consideration, as I now have to wait 10 business days to be reimbursed for something I shouldn’t have had to pay for in the first place.

The app was fine; the problem was your communication regarding the issue you reported—that the battery was bad. It was replaced on-site within 45 minutes—the kind of thing that can happen with any car rental.
Turo has the best communication for situations like this.
You turned out to be a very difficult customer.
Au top rien à dire, véhicule propre, réponse rapide, emplacement au top pour l’arrivée.
