While this was our first time driving a hydrogen-fueled car, the host did not provide any information about fueling or the current regional hydrogen shortage until after we had already picked up the vehicle. Because of this lack of proactive communication, we were left stranded in an area with non-working stations, resulting in a late-night tow and a 3-hour trip turning into 5 hours. When we reached out for help, the host was unhelpful and only sent a link I already had.
Additionally, the car was not clean upon pick-up. There were stains on the cup holders and few trash on the floor. We weren’t expecting a fully detailed car but a simple wipe down/vacuum would’ve been appreciated.
The host also offered a discount in exchange for a 5-star review, but given the significant safety and cleanliness issues, I cannot recommend this rental.
Suggestions for the host: Please put the hydrogen fueling requirements and the current regional shortage at the very top of the vehicle details. Providing the fueling station link in the public description would also allow renters to check their itinerary before booking.
