Looking for car rental in Statesville? You've come to the right place. Turo connects you with vehicles listed by local owners — from reliable sedans to spacious SUVs — so you can skip the rental counter and explore at your own pace. It's a better way to find car rental across North Carolina, starting right here in Statesville.

Kyle was very friendly and very accommodating. Definitely will rent from him again.

The service was prompt and professional. I made the reservation last minute due to another rental company canceling my reservation. Not only was the car available before the reservation time, it was clean and the gas tank was full. I will definitely rent again.
Excellent communication! Would definitely book with Kyle again. Helped me out on extremely short notice late at night after my truck broke down on my way home from work. I was able to pick pick up the car right away and not lose any time at work. Also let me modify my reservation after my truck was fixed earlier than expected and get a refund on days I no longer needed. Highly recommend!

From start to finish, a very smooth transaction. Car was amazing and hosts were more than happy to answer questions. Would definitely recommend as I will be renting from them again any time I'm in the area.

The car was in great shape the host is amazing and very pleasant. A great person to do business with. I am new to Turo and he really made this a great experience for me.

Good car, great fuel mileage but it didn't have a sunroof like the description said. Other than that it was perfect. That's the only reason we rented by the way. I could've gotten one closer to the house for the same price. But it was a comfortable drive

This trip was great due to this hosts perfect track record and knowledge of the industry.

Thanks Ron, this car is a life saver! Clean, rides great, good on gas will be renting again in the future!

Car was clean, reliable, and ran very smoothly. I had to extend my trip because of a family emergency and had no problem. Kyle was always quick to communicate with me. I will definitely rent again.

Great car and great hosts as always! Can't wait to rent again with these guys
The car rode great and was great on gas. The host was great at communicating and was able to answer any questions I had. I would definitely rent from them again.

Always a great experience! Clean car, great in gas.... anytime I need to extend or ask questions about a rental, I always get a response. Definitely my go to when needing a rental!
A few things to know before you drive in Statesville:
North Carolina requires all passengers to wear seat belts, and handheld phone use is prohibited while driving. Speed limits vary — watch for posted signs, especially in school zones and residential areas.
Downtown Statesville offers free street parking and several public lots within walking distance of shops and restaurants. At Lake Norman State Park and other outdoor attractions, parking is typically free but can fill up on busy weekends.
North Carolina has limited toll roads, and most routes around Statesville are toll-free. If your trip takes you toward Charlotte or the Triangle, check your route in advance — some highways use electronic tolling.
Gas stations are easy to find along I-77 and I-40 and throughout downtown Statesville. EV charging stations are available at select locations in the area, so plan your stops if you're driving an electric vehicle.
Statesville and the surrounding area are car-dependent. Public transit options are limited, and attractions like Lake Norman State Park, nearby speedways, and the Blue Ridge foothills are best reached by car.
A sedan handles city errands and highway drives efficiently. An SUV offers extra space for families, luggage, and outdoor gear. A minivan works well for larger groups traveling together. For weddings, anniversaries, or a memorable weekend, consider a luxury car or convertible.
The closest major airport is
Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), about 40 miles south of Statesville via I-77. Guests can arrange pickup near the airport or have a car delivered, then drive north to Statesville in under an hour. It's an easy route with no tolls.
Pricing on Turo varies by vehicle, dates, and trip length. You'll see the total cost upfront in the app, including any applicable fees and protection plans. Booking for a week or longer? Many listings offer discounted rates for extended trips, so you can save on monthly and weekly rentals in Statesville.
Turo is a car rental marketplace — not a traditional rental agency. That means you're choosing from vehicles listed by local owners, not a generic fleet. You'll find more variety, skip the counter lines, and often have the option for delivery or custom pickup locations that fit your schedule.
You'll need a valid driver's license and a verified Turo account. When you book, you can upload your license directly in the app. International guests should also have a passport on hand for identity verification.
A valid driver's license from any US state works for booking on Turo. Guests visiting from other countries can use a foreign license — some may also want to carry an international driving permit, though it's not required in most cases.
You must be at least 18 to book on Turo, though some car owners set higher age requirements for their vehicles. Guests under 25 may see a young driver fee added to eligible bookings.
Protection plans are available at checkout. You can choose the level of coverage that works for your trip — options range from basic to comprehensive, and details are shown before you book.
Yes. Many car owners offer weekly and monthly discounts on longer bookings. You'll see any applicable discounts reflected in the total price as you adjust your trip dates in the app.
Absolutely. Turo supports bookings that span weeks or even months. Extended rentals often come with lower daily rates, making them a practical option for relocations, long-term projects, or extended visits.
Mileage policies vary by listing. Some car owners include unlimited miles, while others set a daily limit with a per-mile fee for overages. Check the listing details before you book to find an option that matches your driving plans.
Yes. You can add an additional driver directly in the Turo app — there's no need to coordinate with the car owner. The added driver must meet Turo's requirements and be approved before the trip begins.
You can. Turo offers monthly rentals with discounted rates for extended bookings. Search for 30-plus-day trips to see which vehicles are available, and look for listings that include weekly or monthly discounts.
