This was the best experience I've had since I began using Turo several years ago for my travels. Aside from the very reasonably-priced rental rate for his car, my host, Sarkis, was SO nice, stayed in communication with me throughout the entire rental process, and went out of his way to be extremely accommodating. He actually delivered his car to the LAX airport for us and brought us back to the LAX airport for our departure! That's in Los Angeles, folks ... unpredictable drivers, crazy, busy freeways and bumper-to-bumper traffic. I mean ... who does that?? I'll tell you who does ... my super host, Sarkis, does! I highly recommend him if you find yourself needing a car in Los Angeles. He really is the best!

The car was very clean, well-maintained, and drove perfectly throughout my trip. I highly recommend renting it if you’re planning a road trip or exploring California. It was reliable, comfortable, and made the journey even more enjoyable.

The car was perfect - and all the more special in manual. The engine noise behind your head from the 4 liter is unforgettable, and now that I am back home I am definitely missing it. Jonathan was easy to work with and did everything he said he would. That in itself is saying something today. I definitely enjoyed the rental and hope that it’s around the next time I’m in LA.

Who is monthly car rental in Florida for?

Just relocated to Florida

You landed a new job in Miami, Orlando, or Tampa and you're still figuring out the commute, the neighborhoods, and whether you even want to live where you are in six months. A monthly rental gives you a car right now without locking into a purchase you might regret. Drive what you need while you settle in, then decide on ownership when you're ready. Browse car rentals in Florida to see what's available near you.

Your lease just ended — or you just sold your car

You're between cars in a state where you need one for practically everything. Instead of rushing to a used-car dealership and settling for whatever's on the lot, rent a car for a month in Florida (or several months) and take the time to find the right next move. No pressure, no compromises.

Extended work assignment or traveling professional

Traveling nurses on 13-week contracts at AdventHealth or Baptist Health. Contractors working seasonal projects. Remote workers spending a few months near the coast. If you're in Florida for a defined stretch — 10 weeks, three months, six months — an extended car rental in Florida through Turo is more affordable than day-by-day pricing and far more flexible than a lease.

Post-college or first car

You just graduated from UCF, UF, or FSU and you're starting your career with a tight budget and limited credit history. Monthly rental lets you drive a reliable car without the weight of a car loan, and you can swap or cancel as your plans shift. It's a practical first step when you're not sure where life takes you next.

Top tips for monthly car rental in Florida

Before you book a monthly rental in Florida, here are a few things worth knowing — from finding the best price to navigating the state's toll roads.

Finding the best deal

Filter by trip duration to see discounted monthly rates. Trips of 30 days or more unlock the deepest savings, and many listings also reduce prices for seven-day and 14-day bookings. Browse by price range, compare a few options, and book in advance when you can — popular cars in South Florida and Orlando go quickly.

How to pick a car

For daily commuting in Florida, prioritize fuel efficiency and comfort over flashy features. Reliable sedans, compact SUVs, and hatchbacks tend to offer the best monthly value. Think about your actual needs — passenger count, cargo space, highway miles — and match the car to your routine, not your dream garage.

Road rules and conditions in Florida

Florida allows right turns on red unless a sign says otherwise, and the Move Over law requires you to change lanes or slow down for emergency vehicles on the shoulder. Major corridors — I-95 along the east coast, I-75 through central and west Florida, and I-4 connecting Orlando to Tampa — get congested during rush hours, so plan your commute accordingly.

Parking in Florida

If you're renting monthly in a major metro, budget for parking. Downtown Miami garage spots run $150 to $300 or more per month. Some residential areas require permits. Explore monthly parking options early — it's one of those costs that catches newcomers off guard, especially in South Florida.

Toll roads in Florida

Florida has an extensive toll road network, including Florida's Turnpike and numerous expressways. The standard electronic toll system is SunPass, which covers most toll roads statewide. Many toll roads also accept toll-by-plate, but check with your car's owner about toll preferences and any transponder included with the vehicle.

Gas and EV charging in Florida

Gas stations are abundant across the state, and Florida's fuel prices typically run below the national average. If you're considering an electric vehicle for your monthly rental, the state's EV charging network is growing steadily — you'll find stations near major highways and in most metro areas.

Types of cars available in Florida

You'll find a selection of practical, everyday cars for monthly rental in Florida — reliable sedans from Toyota and Honda, fuel-efficient compacts from Hyundai and Kia, and family-friendly SUVs for those who need the extra space. Filter by make, model, price, and pickup location to match the car to your monthly needs.

Picking a monthly car rental in Florida that fits your budget

Whether you want to rent a car for a month in Florida or stay for several months, rentals on Turo get cheaper the longer you book. Trips of 30 days or more unlock the deepest discounts, and many listings also offer reduced rates for seven-day and 14-day bookings. About 60% of available monthly supply in Florida is priced under $800 per month, with a median around $1,300 per month. You'll see the total price before you book — no hidden fees, no surprise charges at the end.

Frequently asked questions about monthly car rental in Florida

Is there a credit check to rent a car on Turo in Florida?

No. Turo doesn't require an extensive credit check to book a car in Florida. You'll need a valid driver's license and to meet the standard eligibility requirements, but there's no credit pull standing between you and a monthly rental. It's one of the reasons Turo works well for people who are new to car ownership or building credit.

Can I extend my monthly rental in Florida if I need the car for longer?

Yes. If your plans in Florida change and you need the car for longer than you originally booked, you can request an extension directly through the Turo app. Many Florida rentals offer discounted rates on extended trips, so a longer booking often means a lower daily rate.

Can I swap my car during a monthly rental in Florida?

If you want to switch to a different car during your monthly rental in Florida, you can book a new trip with a different vehicle on Turo. Your current trip would end and a new one would begin, giving you the flexibility to change cars as your needs in Florida evolve.

What documents and paperwork do I need to rent a car on Turo in Florida?

To rent a car on Turo in Florida, you'll need a valid driver's license, a verified Turo account, and a payment method on file. The entire process is digital — no stack of paperwork at a rental counter. International visitors to Florida may use a valid foreign license along with their passport.

What kind of license do I need to rent a car on Turo in Florida?

You'll need a valid driver's license to rent on Turo in Florida. US-issued licenses are accepted, and international visitors can typically use a valid foreign driver's license. If your license isn't in English, an International Driving Permit alongside your original license is recommended for rentals in Florida.

How does car rental protection work on Turo in Florida?

Turo offers protection plans for guests booking in Florida. You can choose from different levels of coverage when you book your monthly rental, and the cost is included in your trip price — no separate paperwork or third-party arrangements needed. Review the plan details in the Turo app before your Florida trip to pick the level that fits your needs.

Is there unlimited mileage car rental on Turo in Florida?

Mileage on Turo works a bit differently than traditional rentals. Each listing in Florida has a daily mileage allowance set by the car's owner, and you'll see it before you book. If you're a regular commuter in Florida and want the peace of mind of unlimited driving, use the "Unlimited distance" filter when browsing to find listings that include it.

Can I get discounts on monthly car rental on Turo in Florida?

Absolutely. Many listings in Florida offer discounted rates for longer trips — booking for 30 days or more typically unlocks the best pricing. You'll also find reduced rates on seven-day and 14-day trips. The Turo app shows the discounted total upfront so you can compare monthly rental options across Florida and find the best value.

Can other people drive the car I rented in Florida?

You can add additional drivers to your Turo trip in Florida through the app. Additional drivers need to meet the same eligibility requirements and be approved before they get behind the wheel. Head to the Turo app to add a driver — it's all managed digitally, so there's no extra paperwork involved for your Florida rental.

Is monthly car rental on Turo cheaper than leasing a car?

It depends on the car and how long you need it, but monthly rental on Turo often competes favorably with leasing — especially when you factor in what leasing actually costs. A lease typically requires a down payment, a credit check, and a multi-year commitment, plus you're on the hook for maintenance and depreciation. With Turo, you get transparent, all-in monthly pricing with no down payment and no long-term lock-in. For someone in Florida who needs a car for a few months rather than a few years, that flexibility can save real money.
