The car was good the host and cohosts are courteous, friendly, and extremely helpful and I will definitely rent from them again if I have rental needs in the future

Very much enjoy renting from this host. Very easy to get in contact with. Great person and great vehicle
Loved the car and the host was so nice and flexible when I had to extend my trip twice. The car drove smooth and would definitely book with him again , this booking is one of my favs ! would recommend 10/10 no issues!

The host was very accommodating! The car ran amazing and worked so well. I would definitely rent again.

Affordable, easy to locate. Great on gas and somewhat clean. Brakes may need to be checked but otherwise a great car to rent!!!

Car is very well cleaned and very professionally looking car. He is very flexible as well. Thank you very much.

Pick up and drop off went well. It was strange to me having picking up at a residence. But since the reviews were so high, I trusted it was all good. And it was . The car was not as clean as I would have preferred but not too bad, just dusty, and needed a few spots cleaned. The host was great, fantastic communication. The car has no get up and go which of course has nothing to do with the host but good to know when renting.

I have rented this vehicle in the past. I like dealing with the owner. I will use this car again in the future

Pickup near or at Airports
Rome is easy to navigate, with a compact downtown, scenic rural roads, and convenient access to attractions throughout northwest Georgia. Whether you're exploring the city, visiting nearby parks and colleges, or heading into the surrounding countryside, it's worth understanding local driving conditions, parking options, and a few practical tips before setting off.
Speed limits across Rome’s residential streets usually sit between 25 and 35 mph, rising to 45 mph along main thoroughfares like Shorter Avenue, Turner McCall Boulevard, and Martha Berry Highway. US-27 and US-411 increase to 55 to 65 mph as they move out of town. Georgia law requires all motor vehicles to come to a full stop before turning right on red (unless otherwise posted), and seatbelts are mandatory for everyone. School zones are closely monitored to keep children safe.
Traffic is generally light compared with larger Georgia cities, although congestion can increase around Floyd Medical Center, Berry College, and Shorter University during peak periods. Broad Street also becomes busier on weekend evenings and during local events. Outside these times, most roads remain easy to navigate throughout the city.
Summer storms can develop quickly between June and August, bringing heavy rain and occasional flooding in low-lying areas near the rivers. During winter, brief icy conditions are possible on higher-elevation roads surrounding the city. Drivers should also remain alert for deer crossings on rural roads, particularly at dawn and dusk, and share the road with cyclists throughout Floyd County.
Downtown Rome offers three city-managed parking decks on 3rd Avenue (next to the Forum River Center), 4th Avenue, and 6th Avenue. Street parking along Broad Street is limited to three hours between 8 am and 6 pm, Monday through Saturday, and is generally free outside those hours. The Rome City Hall and Carnegie Building parking lots also open after 5 pm on weekdays and remain available on weekends, making them convenient options for evening events.
Outside downtown, parking is generally easy to find. Berry College, Shorter University, Oak Hill, and many other local attractions provide dedicated parking areas for visitors. The Roman Chariot free shuttle also operates on Friday and Saturday evenings, offering a convenient way to explore downtown without needing to move your vehicle.
There are no toll roads in or around Rome, GA. All highways and back roads through Floyd County and the surrounding North Georgia region are free to drive. The closest tolled lanes are the Peach Pass express lanes on I-75 and I-85 around Atlanta, about 90 minutes south.
Gas stations are abundant across Rome, with Shell, Chevron, BP, RaceTrac, and QuikTrip locations along Shorter Avenue, Turner McCall Boulevard, and the US-27 and US-411 corridors heading in and out of town. Prices in Rome generally sit at or below the Georgia state average.
For drivers in EVs, Rome has a solid charging network. Georgia Power runs DC fast chargers at the Forum River Center on Tribune Street, with charging speeds up to 125 kW that add about 100 miles in 12 minutes. ChargePoint and Tesla Destination chargers can be found across hotels and shopping centers, with ample public charging stations in the city overall. Berry College and Shorter University also offer charging on campus grounds.
Not necessarily, but a car can make it easier to experience more of Rome and the surrounding region. Many of the area's most popular attractions, including Berry College, Cave Spring, and the Pinhoti Trail, are most conveniently reached by road, while having a vehicle also makes day trips across North Georgia and to Atlanta far more straightforward.
