I have never used this app to rent a car before. It was a smooth transaction, experience and I will be using it again. The host was amazing and the car was perfect. Thanks for the memories and a great week.

The car is running. Just the price is too much. Think about, the rent plus the uber for pickup and returning and the gas, make it more than $80 per day. If not super busy or need to go many places, taking uber will be cheaper. But again, the car is fine.

The hosts of this car were very communicative and helpful before, during and after the rental. The car drove great, could use better windshield wipers, but all in all very dependable, quick, decent on gas, had the GPS i needed, which the hosts even input my address for me before I arrived. It was a good experience and I'd definitely recommend.

Who is monthly car rental in Raleigh for?

Just relocated to Raleigh

You accepted a job at one of the 300+ companies in Research Triangle Park, packed up, and moved. Now you need a car to get around a city that runs on wheels — but you're not ready to buy one before you know which neighborhood you'll settle in or whether the role is long-term. A monthly car rental in Raleigh puts you behind the wheel from day one, with no down payment and no pressure to commit before you're ready.

Lease just ended — or just sold your car

Your lease expired, or you sold your car and you're weighing what comes next. That gap between vehicles doesn't have to mean borrowing rides or rushing into another multi-year commitment. An extended car rental in Raleigh on Turo bridges the transition — no down payment, no dealer pressure, and you can extend month to month for as long as you need.

Extended work assignment or traveling professional

Traveling nurses rotating through WakeMed, Duke Health, or UNC Health. Contractors on three-month projects at RTP campuses. If you're in Raleigh for a defined stretch — 10 weeks, three months, six months — a monthly rental is far more economical than daily or weekly rates. You get reliable transportation that matches the length of your assignment, not a year-long financial commitment.

Post-college or first car

You just graduated from NC State, Duke, or UNC and landed your first job in the Triangle. Raleigh requires a car, but taking on a loan with an entry-level salary and uncertain next steps is a big ask. A monthly rental lets you drive the car you need now without tying up credit, absorbing depreciation, or locking into a payment plan that outlasts your plans.

Pickup locations for monthly car rental in Raleigh

Purple squiggle

Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU)

If you're flying into Raleigh to start an extended stay or a relocation, you can pick up a monthly rental right at the airport. Turo has an official agreement at RDU, with pickup and return available at ParkRDU Premier and Central garages. You'll coordinate details with your Raleigh car's owner through the Turo app — no rental counter, no shuttle bus.

North Hills

North Hills is a major mixed-use hub in midtown Raleigh — a concentration of apartments, offices, restaurants, and retail with direct access to I-440. If you've just relocated to the area or you're between cars and living in central Raleigh, North Hills puts you close to monthly rentals in a convenient, well-connected part of the city.

Brier Creek

Brier Creek sits in northwest Raleigh, just minutes from RDU and a 10-to-15-minute drive to Research Triangle Park via I-40. It's a popular landing spot for RTP professionals on extended assignments and new-to-Raleigh employees getting settled. Picking up a monthly rental here keeps you close to both the airport and the Triangle's largest employment corridor.

Top tips for monthly car rental in Raleigh

Raleigh is a car-centric city with low congestion, well-maintained roads, and easy highway access — which makes a monthly rental here especially practical. Here's what to know before you book.

Finding the best deal

Filter your search by trip duration — 30 days or more — to see monthly pricing with the deepest discounts. Browse by price range to compare options, and book in advance when you can. Many Raleigh listings also offer reduced rates for seven-day and 14-day bookings, so even a shorter extension comes at a better rate than daily pricing.

How to pick a car

Think about your daily routine. If you're commuting to RTP or running errands across the Triangle, fuel efficiency matters more than horsepower. Reliable sedans, compact SUVs, and hatchbacks tend to deliver the best value for monthly renters — comfortable for daily driving, easy on gas, and practical for everything from grocery runs to weekend trips.

Road rules and conditions in Raleigh

Raleigh has lower congestion than most metros its size, and the road network is straightforward. I-40 connects you to RTP and Durham, I-440 loops through central Raleigh, and I-540 circles the outer suburbs. Two NC laws worth knowing: the Move Over Law requires you to change lanes or slow down for stopped emergency vehicles, and the Fender Bender Law means you should move minor accidents out of traffic.

Parking in Raleigh

Downtown Raleigh has monthly parking garages that are more economical for long-stay renters than paying daily rates. Some neighborhoods have residential permit zones, so check signage if you're parking on the street. For a monthly renter, a garage pass is usually the simplest and most affordable option.

Toll roads in Raleigh

The main Raleigh highways — I-40, I-440, and US-1 — are toll-free. Some newer sections of I-540, known as the Triangle Expressway, do have toll segments. These are most relevant if you're commuting from Brier Creek or North Raleigh. Check your listing details before your trip for any specific toll guidance.

Gas and EV charging in Raleigh

Gas stations are widespread across the Raleigh metro — you won't have trouble filling up regardless of where you're staying. If you book an electric vehicle, the Triangle's EV charging infrastructure is growing quickly, with Tesla Superchargers and ChargePoint stations throughout Raleigh, North Hills, and the RTP corridor.

Types of cars available in Raleigh

You'll find a wide selection of practical, everyday vehicles for monthly rental in Raleigh — reliable sedans, fuel-efficient compacts, and family-friendly SUVs. Popular makes like Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, and Kia are well-represented across Raleigh listings, giving you solid options whether you prioritize fuel economy, cargo space, or comfort.

Picking a monthly car rental in Raleigh that fits your budget

Whether you want to rent a car for a month in Raleigh or stay for several months, rentals on Turo get cheaper the longer you book. Trips of 30 days or more unlock the deepest discounts, and many listings also offer reduced rates for seven-day and 14-day bookings. About 60% of available monthly supply in Raleigh is priced under $800 per month, with a median around $1,300 per month. You'll see the total price before you book — no hidden fees, no surprise charges at the end.
