Get to know your Toyota Hiace

Renting a Toyota Hiace? Nice choice. Whether you’re moving house, off on a group road trip or playing tour guide for your family, the Hiace is your trustworthy four-wheeled mate. But if it is your first time behind the wheel of a van, here are some tips for driving your Hiace rental.

Toyota Hiace driving tips

- The Hiace is longer than your average car, so give yourself a little extra room when turning corners, especially left turns in tight Aussie streets.

- Be mindful of the height. The Hiace van is a tall unit, so watch out for car park height limits, low-hanging branches and drive-through roofs.

- Use your mirrors — they are magic. With big wing mirrors and no rear window, these beauties are your best mates. Adjust them properly before you hit the road and use them often, especially when changing lanes or reversing.

- When you have a full load of luggage in cargo, the Hiace takes a little longer to stop. Ease off the heavy foot and brake early.

- Practice parking beforehand. The sliding door is handy for tight spots, but you’ll still want to get comfy with the large size of the Hiace.

How much does it cost to rent a Hiace?

The cost of a Hiace car rental can vary depending on the model variant, rental period, extras, and delivery. For cheap Hiace rentals, look out for potential discounts on early bookings and renting for extended periods.
