Great host easy to work with

I would not rent this vehicle again.
Upon pickup, there was a noticeable cigarette odor inside the vehicle. During my trip, the vehicle displayed an “Oil Change Required” warning, the rear A/C was not functioning properly and blew hot air, and the vehicle shook and rattled while driving. These are not conditions I would expect from a vehicle being represented as being in excellent condition.
I was traveling with my family, including children, and these issues made the trip less comfortable than it should have been. I documented the vehicle’s condition during the rental period.
Following the trip, the host attempted to hold me responsible for a smoking violation that I strongly dispute. The vehicle already had a noticeable cigarette odor when I picked it up, and I have documentation supporting the condition of the vehicle during my rental period.
My advice to future renters is simple: thoroughly inspect the vehicle, take extensive photos and videos at pickup, document any odors, warning lights, cleanliness issues, or maintenance concerns immediately, and keep copies of all communications.
Based on my experience, I would not rent this vehicle again.
