1st let me say the host was very apologetically communicative when contacted.
Now on to the review. The pick up was smooth but the address did change, which is fine, I was still able to find it easily. Upon pickup, opening the vehicle, there was a mix of both cigarettes and dog urine. I have a dog and know what that smell is. Even was confirmed that a dog was in the vehicle by my dog doing an investigation lol.
Due to the nature of the rental, there was zero time or opportunity to return or exchange. So I purchased things to freshen the scent of the vehicle. One of the vans occupants was cut but an exposed seat belt lock. Vehicle still had remnants of the previous rented in it like tissues in the door, a parking garage ticket in the dashboard, bottle of water. Van was essentially dirty like nothing was vacuumed and the outside not run through a carwash. There’s pictures posted from after 10pm the night before my trip started, of the van, showing the inside presumably after the renter returned it. And that’s how I got the van, minus the bigger pieces of trash left. I didn’t pick up the van until after 7pm, that left plenty of time to get it prepared for me.
Again, when contacted the host was very apologetically communicative.
I’m not a fan of leaving bad reviews because I want us all to win but to give someone a vehicle in that condition is not the way to keep renters coming back.
