Absolute worst ever! Van was rented a week in advance and very early in the morning of the pickup the owner blew up my phone while I was at work. When I finally had a second to answer he tried to change plans on the pickup time and even wanted me to go through a different company of his altogether. He had a ton of excuses for why he couldn’t fulfill his pickup time or location (which he didn’t even know where it was) and it was all centered around his kids flag football game. I ultimately agreed through the course of multiple phone calls that he could bring the van to me over three hours later than I agreed upon with Turo, but even after agreeing with that he tried to change plans and wanted me to somehow meet him at this random park. He wanted me to try and feel bad for him and go out of my way because he just simply didn’t have the van ready or available when and where he said it would be. He was ultimately 30 more minutes late than the already three hours he delayed it. I payed a large price for this van so that my clients in the treatment center I work at could go to a specially arranged outing in the mountains. We almost missed this opportunity by a matter of minutes because the renter couldn’t fulfill his terms that were set a week previously. When I got the van it had less than 3/4 of a tank of a gas. He was trying to rip an orange sticker off the driver side window which there are still large remnants of. The car was dripping coolant off the front and he had clearly just filled the reservoir. The van was totally dirty and the tires hardly had any tread left. When he finally dropped the van off he still had the courage to tell me to rent from him and his other companies in the future, and that he would make this right. He’s a total disorganized con man. I asked him what to do when I’m done with the van since clearly what I signed up for with Turo was out the window. He said I’ll meet you wherever and whenever you want. I asked him to name a time and place and he wouldn’t. The next day when it was due based on the original agreement, I messaged him and asked if he could pick it up at 10am. He first said it would have to be 12pm. Then he called and said he missed a train and that it would have to be 6pm. Then he said his brother would come to get it at 2pm. His brother finally showed up around 2:15pm. All in all when you rent a vehicle and agree to terms, you expect those terms to be met. Instead this owner does the exact opposite and makes the renter completely change their plans to accommodate him. This man shouldn’t be allowed on Turo and because he still is even after reviews like mine, I won’t be using Turo ever again!
