Hello Turo Support,
I would like to formally report a very disappointing and unsafe experience with a van we rented through Turo for a family trip to Miami. We were traveling with family, friends, and four children, so safety and comfort were extremely important to us.
Although the van looked decent in the listing photos and from the outside, the actual condition of the vehicle was very poor. From the beginning of the trip, we experienced multiple issues, including:
- AC vents not working properly and barely blowing air
- Extremely uncomfortable seats
- Engine warning light repeatedly turning on and off
- Tire pressure warning light repeatedly turning on and off
- Bluetooth not functioning
- Several charging ports not working
Because of the AC issues, the ride became extremely uncomfortable, especially in the Miami heat with children in the vehicle.
Most importantly, on our return trip from Miami, one of the tires blew out on the highway. The van came to a stop in the middle of the highway, creating a very dangerous situation. Thankfully, no one was injured, and luckily there was no vehicle directly behind us at that moment. Otherwise, this situation could have resulted in a serious accident.
Overall, this was a very stressful and unsafe experience, and we feel the vehicle should not have been rented out in this condition. We trusted that the vehicle listed on Turo would be properly maintained and safe for travel, especially for families.
We would appreciate Turo reviewing this matter seriously and providing an appropriate resolution regarding this rental experience.
