I had a very disappointing experience with this rental.
A few hours before pickup, the host informed me that the car had been dented during the previous trip and asked if I still wanted to proceed. Given the short notice and lack of time to make alternative arrangements, I agreed. However, I requested a discount since the vehicle was no longer in the condition advertised, and none was offered.
When I arrived, the car was not only damaged but also extremely dirty inside and out. It had clearly not been cleaned between trips, which made the experience feel far below what I paid for. At that point, I could have rented a clean, undamaged vehicle from a traditional rental company for a similar price.
Additionally, due to flight delays, I kept the host updated about my arrival time, but received no responses. When I arrived, the car was locked and inaccessible. I had to escalate through Turo support and call the host before I was finally able to access the vehicle.
Overall, this experience fell short in multiple areas: vehicle condition, cleanliness, and communication. Based on this experience, I would not book with this host again and would hesitate to use Turo in the future.
What an inaccurate review of the events that actually happened - as you can see from all of my other 42, 5 star reviews. Unfortunately my car had some damage from the guest previous to this one on the passenger side door. I asked if this would be an issue for their use, which they responded no after seeing how minimal of damage it was and did not affect their use for it. The car was and always is cleaned before the next guest. It took me 1 min by the time they sent the text to unlock it.
