I did not love my experience renting with Turo and will likely not rent again.
The host we rented from was quick to respond to my questions and the car was perfect- exactly as advertised. Fit my family of 5 and 3 last he suitcases as well as 4 carry-ons perfectly. It was extremely clean.
My issue was there were a lot of fees that were not disclosed or charged up front. The host informed me they have no control over what TURO charges but since they were the ones I was communicating with I felt like they should be able to communicate with me better in what actual fees would’ be.
For example- I wanted to switch my pickup location to the airport we were arriving at. Messaged the host and they told me it would be $40 round trip to do so. Changed my location in the app, got charged $83. Asked the host why and they said they have no control over what Turo charges….. just felt shady. Also had to pay the airport parking fee when we retrieve the car. that was not disclosed in the beginning when I made the reso and made no sense because Turo already
changed me an airport parking. Just be aware. What you pay to reserve will not be your final charge
