The vehicle got us where we needed to go, but I wouldn’t rent it again for a road trip.
The biggest concern was that the doors didn’t make any sound when locking, unlocking, or even closing completely. It was difficult to tell whether they were fully shut or actually locked, which made me especially nervous traveling with my kids. I found myself constantly second-guessing whether the doors were secure.
We also discovered that the sunroof was completely covered with duct tape. We didn’t notice it until we were driving on the highway and heard a very loud noise. We initially thought we had a tire problem, but it turned out to be the taped sunroof. We then had to drive nearly three hours with the constant sound of wind rushing through the taped sunroof, making it feel like we were driving in a wind tunnel. When I contacted the owner, he said it had just broken. I wish we had been notified before the rental began so we could have decided whether we were comfortable renting the vehicle in that condition.
I completely understand renting an older, well-used vehicle—that isn’t the issue. My concern is that the listing should accurately reflect the vehicle’s current condition with up-to-date photos and disclosure of significant damage so renters know what to expect before they arrive.
Overall, the vehicle is extremely worn. It got us from point A to point B, but based on its condition, the excessive road noise, and the lack of communication about the damaged sunroof, I wouldn’t recommend it for a trip.

Regarding the door issue, we couldn’t figure out what exactly do you mean. The doors can be locked and unlocked using the power lock button. Also, if the door is open it will show on the dash that a door is open. It will say door ajar.
The vehicle has no mechanical issues and you went to Branson back and forth with no problems.
The best car I’ve ever driven. It was in perfect condition. The owner was very helpful and made it possible for us to take the trip ensuring my mom and the rest of us were very comfortable.
