The car drove fine, except the brake pads hadn’t been changed in a while but that was also ok. What was not ok was the rotten, foul smell which was in the car from the second we sat inside. We thought it would air out/we could febreeze it out but no matter what we tried the smell wouldn’t leave. It still smells terrible for anyone thinking of renting it as I located the stench and it’s from the spare tire well which has mold and sloshy food in it from who knows how long.
Also I returned the car with full fuel and they tried charging me $35 for an extra 12 miles of range so be careful, clearly not managed well otherwise the cars are okay and well priced.

All was better than good enough for our road trip to San Diego and back: clean, carried all of the people and luggage for this trip, went fast enough, drove straight, and was about the most restful drive up and down I5 I've had.
