I am considering buying an EV, and have focused on either a Tesla 3 or the Ioniq 5. So I rented each vehicle for a week apiece to personally experience each.

In terms of this Ioniq rental, Sumit was a fantastic host. He met me at the pickup spot on time, offered helpful tips—how to safely open and close the charging port, how to navigate the computer interface, where to find local public charging stations, etc—eagerly shared his enjoyment of the Ioniq, and even agreed to meet me again the next morning to provide the owner’s guide and Type 1 charging cable. The car itself was spotlessly clean.

In comparison to the Tesla the Ioniq drove like a luxury vehicle—smoother handling, more familiar driving controls, a seemingly larger interior, and a reliable Type 1 recharging system. (By comparison the Tesla charger kept halting for reasons unknown, forcing me to use paid public charging stations.) But my husband missed the driving-assist elements provided in the Tesla—the Ioniq has no self-driving features and no traffic details on the displayed maps.

Overall this was a terrific rental experience!

Sumit was an amazing host! He responded quickly to any questions I had and gave a thorough explanation of how the electric car worked, which was especially helpful since it was my first time renting one. He also shared lots of useful tips and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. This was my first experience using Turo, and thanks to Sumit, it was a great one. Friendly, communicative, and professional—I would definitely rent from him again!

The car was amazing! it drove so smooth, was very clean and battery lasted a long time! Host was very kind and helpful, if i’m ever in Palm Springs again I will definitely book again!

Sumit made pick up and drop off at airport so easy! The car was comfortable and in great condition. We appreciated the long battery range - no range anxiety! It would have been helpful to have a copy of the owners manual.
