Amazing rental, clean car, easy pickup

Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had on Turo! Irene was the most inhospitable host I’ve dealt with in all the years I’ve rented on Turo.

From the very beginning Irene had horrible communication, leaving me on read and not responding to my messages on multiple occasions.

As for the vehicle itself the interior was dirty, the seats looked like they were wiped down with dirty rags leaving residue on them and the door panels as well along with dog hair and the smell of wet dog. The dog hair and smell wasn’t bothersome since I’m not allergic, but there could have been an effort to have a clean vehicle for us.

The Bluetooth system froze, we had issues connecting our phones for navigation and had to reset the system because of the screen prompt we couldn’t bypass which lead to a disconnection issue to the hosts Ford app and Bronco. It seems like the entire electrical system was having issues because the gas gauge would constantly misread the level of gas when we drove and filled up. The air tire levels were all over the place and returning from our trip we balanced the air levels ourselves. The soft top made it extremely loud inside the car since we traveled far and I’d rather opt for the hard top to not deal with all the noise.

The only good thing about the Bronco is that it drove well through the snow and storm we endured momentarily. We do enjoy using the Bronco equipped with snow tires and AWD for more intense weather; however, I’ll never be renting from Irene again.

Her demeanor from the beginning was very off putting since she was considering canceling my booking even though I booked months ahead. This left me on edge and I had to look for a back up vehicle just in case she canceled last minute because she ignored my messages for 3 weeks until my pick up date.

On the third day during our 7 day rental I submitted a request to extend the trip which was approved immediately and charged but Irene was upset that I did not return the vehicle sooner than the agreed time. She falsely accused me a taking advantage of the allotted time I was well within and then continue to be argumentative and combative. I felt uneasy for almost every interaction I had with her since her responses were standoffish and she completely ignored my messages on multiple occasions. I would have preferred if she canceled my trip when she considered it and avoided this whole annoyance.

I respect all hosts vehicles and left Irene’s car cleaner than she initially had it and due to her electrical issues with her system I was unable to leave the tank at 3/4 how I picked it up so I ended up topping it off completely so about $25 extra free gas for her.

I do not recommend renting from Irene! Find a better Bronco that’s properly maintained and a host that can show more hospitality to their renters!
