There was a cigarette butt underneath the passenger-side seat rail; and it was wedged in such a way that it seemed it was placed there. It was difficult to spot and lo only visible once I got the car emptied/cleaned for our return. I also have my child and carseat with me, which was another reason that I was inconvenienced with the cigarette smell. I’m not placing any blame but stating this to support my initial comment to the host about the heavy smell of cigarette smoke. Even though I only found one butt, the smell seems to be more from a long/term smoker, in my view. Communication with vehicle owner was easy, which was appreciated. Owner may need a better cleaning service.
