The vehicle was clean, well maintained, and drove great. There’s even a rear view camera that records just in case an accident happens which really made me feel safer on the roads.
However, I received a message from the host that came across as a bit misleading to me. It is absolutely possible I may have misinterpreted the message, but it seemed like they were trying to get me to pay an additional $10 for a service that was never listed, nor actually mandatory to operate the vehicle.
I took a screenshot of the message but I can’t upload it but this is the message word-for-word and I will let you all decide for yourselves.
“Please, Read and let's us know.
Please be advised that an active SunPass transponder installed in the vehicle is required for the use of our service.
Should you choose not to utilize our SunPass service, you must present your personal SunPass transponder at the time of vehicle delivery. If you do not have one available, we will proceed to install our transponder and apply the corresponding charges 10$ one time Service Fee Plus Usage through Sunpass System.
Kindly note that, based on prior experience, the vehicle may not be operated without a properly authorized and active SunPass transponder. Any Fine, Traffic Violation is your responsibility during your rental.”
At pickup, the host clarified that it was optional, but if that’s the case they should really consider changing the wording to reflect that as words like “REQUIRED” do not mean optional.

We regret the disagreement regarding our SunPass service fee. Guests who prefer not to use our SunPass may choose Toll-by-Plate, as this guest did. Despite the disagreement, we provided the guest with an alternative that met their preference.
