The car itself was in great condition, drove very smoothly, and was very nice and comfortable. We took great care of the vehicle throughout the rental and drove safely.
However, the overall experience with the host could have been better. Communication and understanding felt somewhat one-sided. The host was approximately 20 minutes late for the pickup, and while we were understanding and patient about the delay, we did not feel that same level of grace was extended to us during the return process. There also seemed to be an effort to charge additional fees for various things, which made the experience feel less accommodating than expected.
Another area that could be improved is the information provided about charging the EV. The instructions should be much more detailed for guests who may not be familiar with the vehicle or EV charging. It would be helpful to explain that guests may need to download the EVgo app, how to locate compatible charging stations, and how to start a charging session. Providing a charging adapter that allows the vehicle to be used at other compatible charging networks would also be a great addition and would give renters more flexibility when traveling.
Overall, the vehicle itself was excellent and we enjoyed driving it. With better communication, more detailed charging instructions, and an adapter for additional charging stations, this could be a much better rental experience.
