The vehicle itself was fine, and my second rental experience was generally smooth. However, the overall experience was unfortunately affected by communication and coordination issues.
For my original reservation, I provided my flight information in advance and remained in communication with the host when my flight was delayed. Unfortunately, after I landed in Miami, I was unable to reach Brian or his team despite repeated attempts. Turo also attempted to contact the host without success. As a result, I was stranded after landing, had to arrange an Uber, and ultimately had to rebook another vehicle the following day.
Brian did apologize for what happened and offered the second rental with the understanding that I would not need to refuel because of the inconvenience, which I appreciated. However, I still had to arrange additional transportation to pick up the vehicle.
The second rental itself went well until the return. I communicated with a member of Brian’s team that I would be returning the vehicle early, and I dropped it off at the location provided. After I had already left to catch my flight, Brian contacted me regarding the early return and parking. Although he ultimately updated Turo, the additional communication about these relatively minor issues was frustrating given the circumstances surrounding my original reservation.
I appreciate Brian’s apology and his effort to make the second rental right, but the initial communication failure created a significant inconvenience and additional expense. I hope the team improves its communication and coordination with guests in the future.
