The vehicle was a 2020 Model Y that showed clear signs of being a heavily used rental. During AC operation, there was a strong moldy odor, and checking the maintenance log confirmed the cabin air filter was overdue for replacement. Additionally, whenever turning the steering wheel in either direction, there was a loud squeak audible both inside and outside the car, likely coming from the control arm.
Aside from these two issues, the vehicle drove fine. Tesla builds amazing vehicles, but this particular rental unit has clearly been neglected. I’d love to rent from this host again if these maintenance issues are addressed or if the car is upgraded to a newer Model Y.
