The issue we had was when going from FSD to us driving the car when we grabbed the wheel the car would jerk. It wasn’t till our son sat behind the wheel did he realize you just needed to push the button on the right side of the steering wheel and it would take it out of self drive. The second issue we had is the car was in self drive did not detect at two different times there was big debris in the road and the lane we were traveling in. There is a lot to learn about this car. We did enjoy the way it rode and the convenience of the car knowing where all the charging stations were. Prior to renting this car we went to the Tesla dealership ship twice once for the sales people to show us how it drove and the second time to get 1 hour demo ride. As two seniors we did pretty well considering it would take quite a bit of studying to really be able to work the car fully.

Hi Christina, thanks for renting the Model Y. Just a heads-up, Full Self-Driving is still a supervised feature, so you’re always in control and responsible. The car shows a prompt on the screen when it wants you to disengage if needed. Glad you enjoyed the ride overall and the convenience of the charging stations!
Wow! What an incredible drive! We did a day trip to the Grand Canyon, and renting a Tesla with Full Self-Driving was the best decision we made. It made such a long drive so much easier and more enjoyable.
