Two hours into our family trip to California the tired unraveled on the freeway . One of the scariest experiences this year by far. Now my children are traumatized because this is the second time we’ve experienced this using TURO.
The host was communicating back and forth very quickly. I was appreciative of that . The thing that caught me by surprise is the fact that I had to pay for everything . I understand I didn’t opt into road side assistance so that part is my fault . It’s the fact that the host asked me to drive to Barstow and get a new tire . Mind you I’m paying for this out of my own money outside of Turo ! He then stated everything I spend is refundable and even asked for my Zelle . I sent the information and heard nothing back from them. After reaching out a couple times he said I’ll have to wait to be refunded through TURO . That’s all good but I DIDN’T PAY THROUGH Turo ! So I’m upset because he sure didn’t hesitate to send me an invoice for a pinch of gas. I’m so done with TURO I’m actually in the process of getting a lawyer. Turo DO NOT care about the safety of their customers . They only care about what they can charge you . Here I am out of $200 all because the host didn’t maintenance his car and Turo absolutely DO NOT CARE. Buying cheap tires… Invest in your business ! Something as simple as a tire could have cost me and my family our lives.
