This was an extremely frustrating and disappointing rental experience from start to finish.
The vehicle’s condition did not match the listing. When we picked it up, the car already had multiple large dents and significant visible body damage on both sides that appeared unrepaired, despite the listing indicating prior fixes. It was surprising and concerning to receive a vehicle in that condition, and it immediately created doubts about accuracy and upkeep.
During our trip, the rear taillight was damaged while the car was legally parked and unattended at a public beach. We handled the situation responsibly by documenting everything, filing a police report, and reporting the incident through Turo exactly as instructed.
What made the situation feel especially unusual was the overall context. The car arrived already heavily damaged, and then it “somehow” sustained additional damage while parked, despite no visible incidents occurring around it and no other nearby vehicles appearing affected. The way the damage occurred and the circumstances surrounding it felt odd and difficult to make sense of. Almost like someone showed up to damage the car and collect the additional insurance money!
The repair handling added even more frustration. The taillight repair charge exceeded $800, notably higher than the $500 out-of-pocket maximum, yet there was very little transparency throughout the process.
Overall, this experience created unnecessary stress and uncertainty during what should have been a smooth trip. I would not rent this vehicle again. Future renters should be extremely diligent about documenting vehicle condition at pickup and fully clarifying protection coverage and repair procedures in advance.

Be careful !! Car that is in the advertisement is not the actual condition of the current vehicle. Was absolutely let down with the horrible cosmetic condition and dents on the vehicle when I arrived. I messaged the host to try and negotiate a discount for false advertisement and was let down. Spend your money elsewhere. Would not recommend.
