We sincerely appreciate the effort you took to return the vehicle in a clean condition. We appreciate your business. Feel free to reach out for special discounts the next time you need a rental 🤙🏻
The battery life on this car sucks. Charging it every day even if we drove only 20 miles away. The car had a bad thump when accelerating all the time. The car stinks like bad feet when the A/C goes on.

This was the least enjoyable Turo experience I have had. Lost 30 minutes upon arrival as the vehicle was not in the spot indicated. Host told me I was in the wrong place, like I am an idiot, then found out the last user had left it in a different spot than indicated in the app. You are bombarded with messages and warnings from the host via the Turo app from before the trip starts to when it ends. Some are helpful, but most are over the top like the aggressive warnings to put the key exactIy where you found it upon pickup. I get the sense this is a vehicle that gets turned over without any actual host intervention, and they are really trying to rely on automated messages to make things efficient. The result is a constant stream of nagging that really makes an unpleasant experience. I imagine that each Turo host is trying to carefully balance protecting yourselves and having a pleasant experience for the renters. This one is erring very far in the direction of nagging. If you are OK with that to get the low price., then maybe it’s worth it. But as someone who is honest, treats vehicles with care, and is here for business travel, I don’t want to be given the sixth degree via the Turo app multiple times a day.

Probably one of the worst experiences we’ve had using Turo.
Our scheduled pickup time was 12:00 PM, and we did not receive a message from the host about a delay due to needing to charge the vehicle until 12:00 PM, the exact time the vehicle was supposed to be ready. As a result, we ultimately waited approximately 35 minutes for the car to arrive.
When the vehicle finally showed up, it was in unacceptable condition. Not only was it delayed, but it was also not fully charged for a new customer. I understand that Hawaii’s weather can make it difficult to keep vehicles clean, and as Hawaii residents ourselves, we completely understand those challenges. However, this was beyond normal weather-related dirt. The exterior had bird droppings all over it, and the interior was also noticeably dirty.
To make matters worse, the individual delivering the vehicle did not even know our name and initially addressed us as someone else. They also commented that they hadn’t realized the car was that dirty but were running late. That response did not inspire confidence in the overall condition or preparation of the vehicle.
I contacted the host to see how they planned to address the situation. Their solution was for me to take the vehicle through a car wash and they would reimburse the cost. In my opinion, that should not have been my responsibility as the renter. I also asked whether some type of discount or compensation could be offered for the inconvenience. Rather than addressing the issue directly, the host began explaining how much Turo takes from each rental.
This was the first negative experience we’ve ever had while renting through Turo. Communication with the host was extremely difficult throughout the trip. Responses were often delayed or nonexistent when assistance was needed. Near the end of our rental, I needed to make a last-minute adjustment to our return time for early morning. The request was denied, and once again communication was limited.
There was also an issue with the vehicle itself that raised concerns about its condition and safety. It felt like something the host was likely aware of but chose not to address. As renters, we expect a vehicle to be delivered clean, properly maintained, and ready to go. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.
For those reasons, I would not rent from this host again, nor would I recommend them to others.
Very disappointing experience overall.
