Great quality vehicle, slight smoke smell but it was a still great

Car smelled like cigarette smoke when we checked in. Host did not mention this until after I sent a message inquiring about this. He claimed he cleaned the smell out prior to our trip, but it was most certainly still present.
Owner offered to refund the trip. However, we only had the vehicle for less than 48 hrs and did not have time to coordinate a new trip with a different host. We asked for alternative forms of compensation, such as a reduced rental price, exchange for a different vehicle, or complementary gas, to which the owner claimed he was unable to do and deflected blame to Turo, which I am skeptical of as he certainly could have offered any of those. Other than the strong smell the vehicle was in good condition and we did not have any other issues.

really solid host, couldn’t have made it easier for me to pick up the car and was very professional. Will definitely book again when I come back to hawaii ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
