This was my 2nd time renting from David. Great host & very flexible & great communication. Car ran smooth & does have a start-stop system (can be deactivated) It has a 3rd row but isnt suitable for adults, more like small children. They go down for extra space for luggage. Gas was also decent & overall this was perfect for a weekend family trip. I would rent again!

GMC Yukon 2017

The vehicle was just as described, and was just what we needed when another Turo rental had mechanical / electrical issues. Unfortunately we were 250 miles away from where we got the first vehicle, and this was the only Turo rental in the area that would fit our family of 5 and luggage before heading into Yosemite / Kings Canyon / Sequoia. The host was amazing to work with, even through a frustrating process with Turo support and roadside assistance that did not get the vehicle back to the host when they promised. Highly recommend this vehicle and host!

Pamela's rav4 was perfect for our trip. It was clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend and rent again when in the area. Pamela was responsive and easy to communicate with. Side Note: In my experiences with Turo, I am use to picking up the vehicle at the airport and not at the renter's location. A bit of curveball for us but not a big deal. Just something to be aware of.

While sedans may offer better fuel efficiency, SUVs excel in versatility and comfort, especially for longer journeys. Consider factors like group size, planned activities, and personal preferences when choosing between an SUV rental and other vehicle types for your Fresno adventure.

What are some tips for maneuvering a large SUV through Fresno's downtown area and parking lots?

Navigating a large SUV through Fresno's downtown area and parking lots requires some finesse. Utilize your rental SUV's rearview camera and parking sensors when available to assist with tight spaces. Practice reversing and turning in open areas to get a feel for the SUV's dimensions. In downtown Fresno, be mindful of narrow streets and one-way roads. When parking, look for larger spaces or consider parking further away from your destination where spots might be more accommodating. Take advantage of pull-through parking spaces when possible to avoid the need for difficult maneuvers. Always be aware of your surroundings and take your time to ensure safe navigation in busier areas.

Advanced driver assistance systems, such as lane departure warnings and adaptive cruise control, can be beneficial for long drives. Additionally, consider SUV rentals with good visibility and powerful headlights for navigating through fog or during nighttime drives. These features will help ensure a safer and more comfortable journey in Fresno's changing weather.

These vehicles often offer superior comfort with features like premium leather seats, advanced climate control, and high-end sound systems, which can make the journey more enjoyable. They typically provide smoother rides and better handling on mountain roads, potentially improving your driving experience. However, consider if these amenities align with your trip goals. If you plan to spend most of your time outdoors, a standard SUV rental might suffice. Weigh the extra cost against the added comfort and features to determine if a luxury SUV rental aligns with your budget and enhances your overall mountain experience.

How do fuel efficiency considerations differ between standard and hybrid SUVs available for rent in Fresno?

Fuel efficiency considerations between standard and hybrid SUV rentals in Fresno can significantly impact your travel experience and budget. Standard SUV rentals typically consume more fuel, especially in city driving conditions, but may offer more power for highway driving or carrying heavy loads. Hybrid SUV rentals, on the other hand, excel in fuel economy, particularly in stop-and-go traffic common in urban areas. They combine a gasoline engine with an electric motor, resulting in lower fuel consumption and reduced emissions. While hybrid SUV rentals may have a higher initial cost, the fuel savings can be substantial, especially for longer trips or extended rentals. Consider your planned routes and driving conditions when choosing between these options to optimize your fuel efficiency and overall travel costs.

What are the best practices for adjusting SUV settings when transitioning from city driving to rural Fresno County roads?

When transitioning from city driving to rural Fresno County roads in an SUV rental, it's important to adjust your vehicle settings for optimal performance and safety. Start by switching off the cruise control if it was engaged during highway driving, as rural roads often require more frequent speed adjustments. If your rental SUV has different drive modes, consider switching to a setting that provides better traction on unpaved or uneven surfaces. Adjust your mirrors to account for the different lighting conditions and potential lack of street lights on rural roads. Be prepared to use your high beams when appropriate, but remember to dim them for oncoming traffic. Lastly, if your SUV rental is equipped with tire pressure monitoring, ensure your tires are properly inflated for the changing road conditions.
