We rented this 2014 Jeep and unfortunately experienced several issues with the vehicle that affected our overall experience.
Upon pickup, we noticed an oil leak that caused a noticeable burnt-oil smell when oil leaked onto the exhaust. The owner was already aware of this issue. The air conditioning was also unreliable. It would take several minutes to begin working after starting the Jeep, and the delay seemed to get progressively longer with each trip.
Our biggest concern was the broken latch for the Jeep’s top. While traveling on the highway, the top began shaking violently, and wind was getting underneath it, making it extremely loud inside the vehicle. We later learned that the owner was aware of the broken latch, but this had not been disclosed to us prior to the rental.
The owner was very responsive when we reached out with our concerns and communicated with us throughout the situation. Unfortunately, he did not have another vehicle available for us to switch to at the time. Because of our concerns with the top, we simply chose not to drive the Jeep on highways for the remainder of our rental.
We completely understand that a 2014 vehicle may have some wear and minor issues. However, we feel that known mechanical or safety-related concerns—especially something involving the security of the top—should be disclosed before the rental so the renter can make an informed decision.
Overall, we appreciated the owner’s responsiveness, but the condition of the Jeep and the lack of disclosure regarding the known issues significantly impacted our experience.

Thank you for your feedback Kathryn! The top latches on the jeep have been replaced, thanks so much for making me aware of how bad it was! The new latches significantly helped reduce the outside noise coming in! This will provide a better experience for jeep renters in the future!
