Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience renting this Cayenne.
The car was extremely dirty when we picked it up, both inside and out. It was dirty enough that we had to wash and clean it ourselves just to feel comfortable sitting inside and using it.
More importantly, the car appeared to be in poor mechanical condition. When turning left, we heard multiple concerning noises, including noticeable squeaking and other sounds coming from the vehicle. We also noticed that when loosening our grip on the steering wheel, the car would pull noticeably to the right. This made us uncomfortable and did not give us confidence in the car, especially for highway driving.
We contacted the owner about these concerns, but were told that we simply “don’t know anything about Porsche” and that this behavior is common for Porsches. We strongly disagree. Regardless of the brand, a rental vehicle should feel safe, properly maintained, and predictable to drive.
Overall, based on our experience, the car felt poorly maintained and mechanically unreliable. We would not recommend choosing this particular Cayenne for a long trip, as we personally did not feel comfortable relying on it for extended driving.
