I rented from Tien because I was in Chicago for my Mom’s funeral. This car was delivered to me at Midway with a nail in the tire and deflated immediately after arriving at my cousin’s from the airport. The photos we took when the car was dropped off confirmed the nail was there when I received the car. Tien expected me to take the car to the shop on a Sunday, in a city I don’t live in, to get it patched. He tried to push all responsibility onto Turo who told me I had to get the car back to him in order to even discuss a refund. Tien told his employee to ignore me but luckily, Alexe was beyond a decent human being
and came and tried to put the spare on (he couldn’t because the toolkit in the car was incomplete). To summarize, I drove his car for 17 miles total and spent the entire first day in Chicago dealing with him and Turo instead of spending time with my family or grieving my Mother. It was an absolute nightmare and I wish I never used Turo at all. Alexe is the only person who restored any of my faith in humanity as he took his personal time to try and help me and treated me respectfully the whole time. I would never, ever rent from Tien or even from Turo and I’ll tell anyone who will listen. First and last time. Don’t get bamboozled.
