I rented a car specifically for unlimited mileage, which the host provided with an active maintenance notification and a requirement for an oil change. When I promptly contacted the host about the issue (noticing it only later), he then demanded that I pay for the oil change. Turo unequivocally disagreed with his request for me to pay for an oil change.
At the time of pickup, the host attempted to deceive me into believing that the Turo app was only available in the Los Angeles area. He initially stated that it was only available in California, and then finally asserted that “yes, you can use the car wherever Turo works” as if I were unaware of the app’s functionality.
Upon returning the car, the host did not offer an apology or acknowledge the unethical business practices he had engaged in.

At pickup, I did not try to mislead you. I simply asked whether you planned to travel far because the vehicle had about 3,000 miles remaining before the next scheduled oil service. This was important for vehicle safety and maintenance planning.
