We had a very unfortunate experience with this rental. The vehicle developed a mechanical issue (throwing clutch overheat alert nonstop) immediately upon pickup and was not drivable. We reported the problem to both the host and Turo right away and did not proceed with the trip.
To the host’s credit, he was very responsive after the incident and kindly offered to drive us back to our hotel, which we truly appreciated.
However, we are still in the process of dealing with Turo’s claims team. We paid $727 for a vehicle that we were unable to use, and no refund has been issued so far. Additionally, the mechanical issue has somehow been attributed to us, despite the fact that we reported it immediately and declined the vehicle.
We are very disappointed with how this situation has been handled by Turo and hope it can be resolved fairly and promptly.
