The host gave clear instructions on pick up and drop off. The car is old in the tooth, and also good value due to the sporty S designation. Lots of power and great exhaust notes.

This is a tough one to review for me. I’ve owned a few of this generation Boxster as well as older ones and now have a new one. I rented it because I wanted to experience the PCH in a mid engine Porsche. The car is rough around the edges cosmetically. It has 188k miles and it shows inside and out. It’s not winning any beauty pageants and just a good cleaning would’ve helped a good amount. That being said it’s mechanically pretty sound, especially considering the miles. There were no issues aside from one of the flaps for the convertible top being disconnected but the top did go up and down no problem. No check engine lights and it ran, shifted, and drove pretty well. I was impressed by how it drove overall with so many miles. At the same time it’s not as confidence inspiring as I would have liked. I wouldn’t say not to rent it, but don’t expect a pristine 981 Boxster experience.
