Awesome car for something unique and special! Nothing quite like a 20 year old, British sports car. Id love to rent again, I was given plenty of necessary info about pickup from the Airport and it was painless and smooth

Car was a blast to drive.

Renting this Vantage was a fun experience. It's cosmetically imperfect, but mechanically sound! Drive several hundred miles over the weekend, and had no issues that caused delays or worries. I'd rent again.

Yuki •
Easy pick up and drop off and very communicative host. The car itself is of course an amazing experience. Not a whole lot of opportunities to drive a manual v8 vantage!

I will start by saying I know sometimes when renting an older car on Turo there may be some quirks, but I’ve never experienced anything like this before… Usually it’s a cosmetic thing or some wear on the interior.
The vehicle needs significant repairs. When we picked up the car the staff member working at the pickup casually said “it’s an older car, the check engine light may go on and off, don’t worry just keep driving it.” There was no light on when we picked it up, but after arriving at our destination and checking into the hotel we went to get dinner and the check engine light and some other warnings came on, they remained on for the rest of the trip. At times it felt like the car went into a limp mode. There was a code scanning tool in the glovebox, which is how I assume they are clearing the check engine light before each trip. The headlights were very dim and aimed incorrectly so driving at night was near impossible even with the high beams on. The rubber part of the windshield wipers was falling off, this made driving in rain/fog challenging, it also created huge smears across the windshield that meant when it was dry we needed to pull into gas stations and use the squeegee to clear them. The speakers on the drivers side would cut in and out, making a loud popping noise when they did. There was a pin for the interior door handle that had to be carefully pushed back in to operate the inside drivers side door. The gas cap button doesn’t work, so you have to open the trunk and find an “emergency” lever to put fuel in it. The headliner inside is sagging so much it would flap and touch our heads at times.
The biggest issue was when I was stopped by a State Patrol officer because the drivers side brake light wasn’t operational, luckily I didn’t get a ticket after explaining this was a rental from Turo, which he had never heard of before…
I would not rent this vehicle again and I can’t recommend it.
The owner did refund a small portion of the cost, but it definitely caused a decent amount of stress while we were on vacation.
