Pros: Car is very fuel efficient & is smooth to drive. The pickup & drop off instructions were simple and easy to follow. Location was easy to find. Host communicated well throughout the trip.

Cons:
When I initially picked up the car, the under part of the front bumper appeared to be hanging low and loosely screwed in. However, there were no specific warnings or precautions made known to me about this prior to my trip. While driving through a heavy rain storm, the bottom right part of the lower bumper came loose and was dragging on the road. As soon as I noticed it I went to the store for supplies for a temporary fix. And I reported the issue through the app. This may not be the Hosts’ fault and just a simple car maintenance issue due to the weather. But for how loosely screwed in it was, it does appear it could’ve been prevented with diligent up keeping.

Another issue that seemed preventable was the car needing any immediate oil change for my initial pick up. When I made the reservations for the car, I paid $150 for the extra add-on of having unlimited mileage. The car was used for a 4 hour drive, round-trip. So I expected the car to be more well suited for a trip like with a new or recent oil change.

On top of that, there was absolutely no washer fluid. So throughout the Drive, I was unable to clean or clear the dirt and smudges. And it was difficult to see through the blurred water streaks when driving through light, drizzling rain. I was only able to clean the windows when I stopped to refill gas and used the window cleaners from the gas station. This was disappointing, frustrating and very inconvenient to have to deal with throughout my trip. Although the Host did check in with me, there really wasn’t anything he could do to help resolve the issue. Unless I paid for something out-of-pocket for an issue that wasn’t mine to have to address.

The last hiccup I encountered was about 2 hours prior to my drop off time. I got the warning signal that the back left tire pressure was extremely low (28). This could have been a result from the roadtrip, as we can’t be for sure, I definitely don’t want to put the blame on the host. However, I did fill it up with air twice. Once with a free air pump immediately after the signal appeared. And once more prior to dropping off the car when I refueled the car. Both pumps displayed the tire was full. However, it didn’t seem to adjust the reading on the dashboard. I’m unsure if I just didn’t give it enough time to update or not as I went straight to the drop off location after filling up the air. So definitely not a major issue, but you’re something to be aware of.

The car ended up having a check engine light but Element was great about replacing it. Would rent from them again!

It was ok, I guess. The car ran fine, got me there and back.
