I would strongly caution anyone considering renting this Tesla. What should have been a simple and smooth rental turned into a stressful and frustrating experience due to safety concerns with the vehicle, charging problems, and an extreme lack of communication from the host.
On Friday, March 6th at approximately 2:00 PM, I encountered a major issue when attempting to charge the car. The vehicle displayed an error message stating that the card on file had unpaid transactions, which prevented the Tesla from charging. Two hours before arriving at the charger, I had already contacted Turo support because I suspected there might be an issue and wanted to resolve it proactively. Unfortunately, neither I nor Turo were able to reach the host at that time.
This was particularly frustrating because the host had previously instructed me to contact them directly if any issues came up so they could address them before Turo became involved. I followed those instructions and attempted to reach out repeatedly regarding the charging problem and other concerns.
When the first issue arose, I placed more than 15 calls and sent multiple messages trying to get assistance from the host. None of these attempts were acknowledged. I did not receive any response from the host until about 10 minutes before I returned the car, which made it impossible to resolve the problems while I was actually using the vehicle.
More importantly, I experienced serious safety concerns while driving the vehicle. The car repeatedly slid during turns and became noticeably unstable in rainy conditions—even while driving below the posted speed limit. Considering how frequently it rains in Florida, this made the vehicle feel unsafe and unreliable to operate during normal driving conditions.
Between the inability to charge the vehicle due to account issues, the complete lack of communication despite repeated attempts to reach the host, and the concerning handling of the vehicle in wet conditions, this rental turned into a very disappointing experience. Future renters should be aware of these issues before deciding to book.
This statement does not reflect the facts. The guest completed the entire trip and drove over 2,000 miles in a brand new 2025 Tesla without reporting any safety issue during the rental. If the vehicle had truly been unsafe, the trip could have been ended immediately through Turo support. These concerns were only raised after the trip ended, when excess mileage and charging costs were applied, which suggests an attempt to avoid paying the charges outlined in the trip terms.

1st time Turo use. Car was great, host was good. Little trouble with charger and payment but overall didn’t affect our happiness with his service.
