I had an amazing experience renting this car! Honestly, it was easier than any experience I’ve had with the big rental companies. The host was fantastic; very punctual, professional, and easy to work with. The customer service is TOP TIER!! The car itself was very beautiful and well kept. Everything went smoothly from start to finish! This was by far the best car rental experience I’ve had, and I will definitely be renting again. Thank you so much!
Car was amazing and host was timely, kind and responsive. Will definitely use this again next trip!

Absolutely phenomenal rental. MsInMotion (Lana) and Michael were fantastic hosts from start to finish. They delivered the car, communicated clearly the entire time, and made everything smooth and easy. The Camry itself was perfect. Clean, comfortable, in tip top shape, and genuinely one of the best highway cars I’ve ever driven. The hybrid mileage was excellent, especially with gas prices being what they are, and the car still had plenty of power when needed. Sport mode was a pleasant surprise too. I honestly cannot rave about this rental enough. It was so good I almost don’t want anyone else driving it before I come back to town, and it may have convinced me to buy a Camry myself. Five stars all the way through. Highly, highly recommend.
This car was so cute and ran great. It’s in great shape and the drop top is a bonus. Definitely would rent again!

The host was very nice. The car drove wonderfully and there were no real issues. There is a shimmy when you initially press the brakes. Gas mileage is great especially with the current price of gas.

The 2020 white Malibu was a great rental! The car was clean, reliable, and drove smoothly the entire trip. Pickup and drop-off were easy, and the host was responsive and professional. The vehicle was exactly as described and made my travel experience stress-free. I would definitely rent from this host again and highly recommend this Malibu to anyone looking for a comfortable and dependable ride. Thanks for a great experience!

Easy access, clear communication, clean car, very smooth transition for pick up and drop off.

This was a great experience! The car was clean and comfortable! No problems at all. I’ll make sure to book again if I need it again ! The owner was also very kind and cool.

Great communication from host . Very good drive and was very clean at pickup. Would definitely rent again
Great car with great gas mileage, communicative host, highly recommended
Basit was a great host. Excellent communication and flexibility. Car was well maintained, clean and drove well. Perfect size for narrow NOLA streets. Will definitely use host again in the future.

Who is monthly car rental in New Orleans for?
Just relocated to New Orleans
You accepted a new job and moved to New Orleans, but you're still figuring out where to live and how long the commute on I-10 actually takes. Buying a car before you know the city doesn't make sense. A monthly rental gives you a car ownership alternative while you settle in — no dealer negotiations, no rushed purchase, and no loan to carry if plans change.
Lease just ended — or just sold your car
Your lease expired or you sold your car, and now you need something to drive while you decide what's next. Rather than rushing into another financial commitment, rent a car for a month in New Orleans and take your time. You keep full mobility without the pressure of a dealership timeline pushing you toward a decision.
Extended work assignment or traveling professional
Traveling nurses at Ochsner regularly spend eight to 13 weeks in New Orleans, and offshore contractors and project-based workers often stay for similarly extended periods. A daily rental adds up fast over that stretch. An extended car rental in New Orleans gives you a set monthly rate, a car you've chosen yourself, and the flexibility to extend if your assignment runs long.
Post-college or first car
You just graduated from Tulane or UNO, you're starting your career, and your credit history is thin. A traditional auto loan means high interest rates and a years-long commitment you're not ready for. Monthly rental lets you drive the car you need now, build your footing, and figure out ownership later — on your timeline.
If you're arriving in New Orleans for a contract, relocation, or extended stay, you can pick up your monthly rental near MSY. The airport sits about 15 miles west of downtown in Kenner, making it a convenient starting point. Browse available cars near the airport, choose the one that fits, and coordinate pickup details through the Turo app before you land.
Metairie is one of the most practical areas for monthly renters in New Orleans. It's a major suburban hub in Jefferson Parish with easy access to I-10, affordable housing, and proximity to Ochsner Medical Center. Healthcare workers, commuting families, and professionals based here often prefer a long term car rental in New Orleans to handle daily driving without the cost of owning.
Mid-City sits between downtown and Lake Pontchartrain, making it a central base for young professionals, medical residents, and university commuters heading to Tulane or UNO. The neighborhood's walkable blocks and residential feel attract people who've recently relocated. If you need a car for errands, commuting, and weekend trips but aren't ready to buy, Mid-City is a smart spot to pick up a monthly rental.

Before you book a monthly rental in New Orleans, a few local details can save you money and hassle.
Filter by trip length when browsing — listings with 30-day or longer bookings unlock the deepest discounts. Many cars on Turo also offer reduced rates for seven-day and 14-day trips, so even a shorter commitment can save you compared to daily pricing. Booking in advance gives you the widest selection and the best rates in the New Orleans market.
For a monthly rental, prioritize fuel efficiency and daily comfort over flash. Reliable sedans, compact SUVs, and hatchbacks from brands like Toyota, Honda, and Hyundai tend to offer the best value. Think about your daily commute, passenger needs, and cargo space — you'll be driving this car every day, so practical beats flashy.
New Orleans roads are known for potholes and uneven surfaces, especially in older neighborhoods. I-10 and I-610 are the main highway corridors, and rush hour at the I-10/I-610 split gets congested. Give yourself extra time during peak hours and keep an eye on road conditions — a car with decent suspension makes a real difference here.
For monthly renters, parking costs depend on where you live. Residential neighborhoods like Uptown, Mid-City, and Metairie generally have free street parking. Downtown and CBD monthly garage rates run $150 to $250 per month. New Orleans doesn't have a citywide residential parking permit system, though some neighborhoods have restricted zones worth checking before you settle in.
Tolls aren't a major concern here. The Crescent City Connection bridge tolls were suspended in 2013, so that crossing is free. The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway collects a toll on the northbound side — rates vary depending on whether you use a transponder or pay by card. Beyond that, there are no significant toll roads in the New Orleans area to budget for.
Gas stations are widely available throughout the city and suburbs. EV charging is growing — you'll find ChargePoint and Tesla Supercharger stations along I-10, in the CBD, and at select shopping centers, though the network isn't as dense as larger markets. If you're renting an electric vehicle, plan your charging stops, especially for longer trips outside the metro area.
Most monthly rentals in New Orleans are practical, everyday vehicles — reliable sedans, fuel-efficient compacts, and family-friendly SUV rentals in New Orleans from brands like Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, and Kia. You'll also find larger options like minivans and cargo vans if you need the space. Browse by price, vehicle type, and pickup location to narrow down the right fit for your daily routine.
Whether you want to rent a car for a month in New Orleans or stay for several months, rentals on Turo get cheaper the longer you book. Trips of 30 days or more unlock the deepest discounts, and many listings also offer reduced rates for seven-day and 14-day bookings. About 60% of available monthly supply in New Orleans is priced under $800 per month, with a median around $1,300 per month. You'll see the total price before you book — no hidden fees, no surprise charges at the end.
No. Turo doesn't require an extensive credit check to book a car in New Orleans. You'll need a valid driver's license, and the platform verifies your identity, but there's no hard credit pull like you'd face with a lease or auto loan.
Yes. You can request a trip extension directly through the Turo app. If the car is available, your New Orleans rental continues at the same daily rate — no rebooking, no extra paperwork.
If you need a different vehicle during your New Orleans rental, you can end your current trip early and book a new one. There's no swap fee from Turo, though cancellation timing matters — cancel at least 24 hours before your trip starts to avoid charges.
You'll need a valid driver's license and a Turo account with a verified profile. International guests renting in New Orleans need a valid passport and license from their home country. You handle everything digitally — no paperwork at a rental counter.
You need a valid, unexpired driver's license to rent in New Orleans. International guests can use a license from their home country. Turo verifies your license during the sign-up process.
Turo offers multiple protection plans for guests renting in New Orleans. You choose your level of coverage when you book, and it's included in your trip price. Each plan covers different levels of liability and physical damage.
Many listings in New Orleans include a daily mileage allowance, and extra miles are charged at a per-mile rate set by the car's owner. If you're driving regularly for a monthly rental, use the "Unlimited distance" filter when browsing to find listings with no mileage cap.
Yes. Many car owners in New Orleans offer discounted rates for trips of seven days, 14 days, and 30+ days. The longer you book, the lower your effective daily rate. Browse by price and trip length to find the best monthly deal.
Only approved drivers can operate a car booked through Turo in New Orleans. You can add an additional driver to your trip through the app, but they'll need to meet Turo's requirements and be listed on the reservation.
It depends on your timeframe. For one to three months, monthly rental on Turo in New Orleans often costs less than a lease when you factor in the down payment, monthly payments, insurance, and maintenance that come with leasing. You also avoid credit checks, depreciation, and early-termination fees. Turo's pricing is transparent and all-in — you see your total before you book, with no surprise charges layered on at the end. For someone who needs a car in New Orleans right now without a long-term financial commitment, monthly rental is the more flexible and often more affordable path.
