Booked the car for a last minute work trip. Host let us know the car was returned late and he needed to clean it. Pick up was for 8am but he did not give a timeframe while we were waiting and we did not get the car until 830. Keys were passed in a rush but the car had an overwhelming odor that we could do nothing about since we needed to leave and had no other option. I let him know the next day and not immediately because again, we needed the car immediately. Host denied an odor at drop off but we had other coworkers verify what we were smelling. Car windshield wipers would frequently turn on throughout the trip but other than that, it was a great car. I’ve rented 15 times with Turo and never left anything below a 5 star until now. I’ve learned my lesson and will book elsewhere in the future for those type of trips. Other Pros - fast communication and easy drop off
The fact the guest waited til the next day to state an odor of smoke and not when I gave them the keys hand to hand is questionable. Yes I was a little late due to the previous guest dropped car off late. I couldn’t get to the car until before this guest trip started. I communicated with them about prepping the car for them. I rather the car be cleaned for guest. They were a last minute same day booked. I apologize for their experience but there was no smell or else last guest would be charged.
