Pickup was fine, but you get what you pay for and listing did not mention cleaning details until the early morning of the last day with notice of $100 cleaning fee if not taken through car wash. Not a big deal but should be made apparent in listing. Otherwise the car ran okay with a bit of motor shaking and unusable passenger window and did smell slightly of smoke prior to our arrival.

We provide complimentary access to Cobblestone as a convenience and simply ask that vehicles be returned in the same condition received. Cleaning fees only apply when a vehicle is returned noticeably/unreasonably dirtier and subject to applicable Turo policies. We apologize if our courtesy reminder is/was misunderstood. God bless!

I rented one of the cheapest cars available, and I’d say I got pretty much what I expected for the price. It’s a 2014 that feels like it’s lived hard, but it’s still out there doing exactly what it was made to do. It got me from the airport to Peoria and back, along with a couple trips to Chase Field, and was an inexpensive way to get around town.
Pickup and drop-off were super simple, and the host was very responsive anytime I messaged.
Just set your expectations accordingly with the car itself. This probably isn’t the car I’d choose if I were looking for a comfortable family ride or planning a long road trip like the Grand Canyon. It was great for a baseball showcase with my son though. It’s definitely showing its age in a number of ways. The A/C still blows cold, but it doesn’t have quite the cooling power of a newer car, so if temperatures are expected to be well over 100°, that’s something to keep in mind.
If your priority is simply getting around town as cheaply as possible, though, it does the job. It’s an older, well-used car at a very low price, and I think that’s the right expectation going into the rental.
My one complaint with the rental process was the expectation that the car be washed and vacuumed before returning it. They provide access to a car wash through their membership, so there’s no additional cost, but the return instructions do warn of a potential cleaning charge if it isn’t done. I would have preferred not to have to build a trip through the car wash into my return to the airport, so that’s something future renters should be aware of.
Overall, the rental worked well for what I needed, the host was easy to work with, and I’d definitely look at renting from them again the next time I’m in Phoenix.
