First time on Turo and Abbas went the extra mile to get me in this Lexus. Ride was smooth no issues all around great experience and host and will rent again.

I rented this vehicle for $340.18, and the condition it was provided in was completely unacceptable. The car was handed over with visible damage throughout both the interior and exterior, as shown in the photos. The heater did not work, which made the rental even more problematic—especially since temperatures dropped to around 40 degrees on multiple nights.

Inside the vehicle, multiple panels and trim pieces are torn, peeling, and cracked, including areas around the center console, steering column, and door panels. This is not normal wear and tear—it reflects neglect and poor upkeep. For a rental vehicle at this price point, I expected a clean, well-maintained interior, not one with obvious deterioration.

The exterior also shows issues, including misaligned body panels around the front grille and bumper, as well as a crooked license plate. These defects were noticeable immediately and should have been addressed before the vehicle was rented out.

Most concerning, however, was the non-functioning heater. Renting a vehicle without a working heating system during cold weather is unacceptable and directly impacts comfort and safety. This is a basic mechanical requirement, not a luxury feature.

Paying over $340 for a vehicle in this condition is disappointing and unacceptable. Renters should not be responsible for accepting or documenting pre-existing damage that clearly indicates a lack of maintenance and quality control. I would not rent from this company again and would caution others to thoroughly inspect any vehicle before driving off the lot.

This was my first experience using Turo, and I will say that my overall experience was pleasent in comparison with renting from traditional rental companies. Turo, the company by itself, I understand the goal for convenience, with minimal to no in person contact somewhat streamlines the entire process which is nice. Dealing and communicating with host, Abbas, was good at the beginning, and his patience and understanding with me through some of the technical challenges really helped me with my first time Turo experience, and really throughout my entire trip, until the end of my trip. Even though I booked the car almost 90min ahead of when I landed into Houston, my thought was to make sure the car was there. Upon landing on time and finally receiving my instructions of where to go find the Lexus in a parking garage, it wasn't there. After 12-15 minutes and calling, I got a hold of someone whom said she would get in contact with the host and call me right back. She did, and said that he was delayed for traffic and should be there in approximately 15min. Exactly why I had planned for the vehicle to be there 90 min prior to my arrival into Hobby Airport. After waiting outside of the airport in the middle of the day for 50min or so the car shows up. My son and I loaded up and left on our 75min drive to our destination, at this time now is the height of rush hour traffic. Abbas messaged me while we were driving , apologizing for the late vehicle drop off etc, and he would make it right for me on the back end of our trip upon the return of the vehicle. During the drive, my son starts noticing some issues and a horrible sound mechanically, coming from the vehicle. Thankfully with my son being mechanically inclined and his career of being a mechanic, he said it was something we didn't have to worry about on the trip but should have been addressed prior to us receiving the vehicle, and it should absolutely be addressed right afterwards when we are done. Along with the very unnerving sounds, the vehicle was absolutely horrendous in the cleanliness department Inside and Out. Food crumbs all over the inside, dirty seats and interior, exterior has scratches and dents on the exterior. I appreciate that both headlights were operational, I dont believe the oncoming traffic cared for the obnoxious different colors looking the northern lights coming down the highway. And than the constant bouncing that could put any toddler to sleep because the rear suspension and tires were so low on air pressure, the rear suspension clunking and noise it was making, the brakes squeaking so bad that security at the gate to the subdivision our family lives in almost turned us away telling us to get another quieter vehicle so we didn't wake up neighbors. It's the basic and respectful, it's the safety protocols that should have been done and taken prior to it being dropped off to me and is expected from being a Lexus owner, rental vehicle or not. It's the common courtesy of making sure that it doesn't smell like weed every time you open the door to get in to the leather being worn out so bad you could seen the seat padding. All these things were brought up, and insinuated that they would be addressed up delivery, or the end of our trip. It's now been almost 2 weeks and zero correspondence has been made or attempted to be made from the host, Abbas. Call me old fashion, but owning a Lexus is something to be proud of, taken care of, washed and maintained, and cleanliness. This was not the case, in fact complete opposite. Abbas was great until problems arouse and he needed to step up and address issues the were brought to his attention not only from a inconvenience standpoint on my end, but also from a safety standpoint for future people renting the Lexus. I still have yet to hear back from him on how he was going to 'make it right' from initially being late. I do believe that if Abbas had delivered the vehicle on his own instead of someone else I am guessing worked for him or family, I would like to believe that he would of noticed all these concerns and not given me that particular car being that I think he has multiple vehicles for a 'Turo company'. Unfortunately, because of my initial experience and the lack of motivation to do anything to correct any of the said inconveniences or safety concerns, I will not rent from Abbas the host again, but will use Turo again and I hope and wish the best for the host and the future clients he may be blessed with.
