While the car was as described, I had a difficult experience with the host. I felt overly monitored during the trip, being messaged when the owner was uncomfortable with my speed. After I returned the car, the owner blamed me for a wheel scratch that wasn’t there when I left the vehicle. He turned in an invoice with repair costs FOUR times the amount Turo themselves deemed reasonable. I would never recommend renting from this host, but if you do, document everything carefully!!
First, I did not engage in excessive monitoring; the vehicle itself is equipped with a built-in overspeed warning system that sends alerts directly to the app linked to the owner. Second, the damage estimate provided by Turo bears absolutely no resemblance to the actual condition of the vehicle. Turo never dispatched anyone to physically inspect the car; their quote was merely a haphazard, arbitrary figure based solely on a superficial assessment. Furthermore, Turo completely disregarded the dam
