Everything was perfect, we arrived sooner than anticipated and they adjusted the pick up time with no issues.

Great car, great host! I rented Jared's Toyota Corolla Hybrid for a few days and it was amazing with gas mileage. The car did have the check engine light come up on my second day but Jared messaged me later in the day and assured me the car was perfectly drivable. The car kept running smooth and excellent throughout my whole trip, with no issues whatsoever. The car was reliable and very efficient with gas mileage, which was my priority. Pickup and Drop Off was easy and fast! Great communication. Would definitely rent again from this host again.

Car was an excellent choice for my trip. Owner was fast to respond with any questions I had regarding the vehicle. I will absolutely be renting this vehicle again. 5 Stars just doesn't explain how great the owner was.

The car was great ! Rode smooth and David was an awesome host as always ! This is my 2nd time renting from him and I didn’t have any problems and David communicated with me and met all my needs ! I will rent from him again ! 😊
Had a great trip in this vehicle drive was smooth car perfectly cleaned. Just be sure to drive the car a couple min after filling the tank because even after filling it it will show the gas meter a bit before 4 notches before the fill line. So do not over fill just drive a few min and it will rise to full
Pick up was easy, car did what I needed to do for the little driving in my head while I was here a few minor things broken in the car like the board where you charge your phone and the door seal weren’t disclosed I couldn’t have a time on my own, but other than that, the trip was good. Hopefully, you guys took those things for the next person because there is scratches and the car did smell whenever I got into it, but it all was OK.
I had a great trip, the car is awesome for gas and small to fit in any parking space. Highly recommend.

First time driving this kind of vehicle. Was pleasantly surprised how well and smooth it drove. I went to visit my daughter at college in SF & it handled very well. Great on gas! David was quick to communicate and respond with most of his msgs being auto generated, he had provided info before I ever needed to ask. I extended my trip by a few hours last minute and he approved it. I would definitely rent from him again!

When booking a rental car in Clovis, consider these helpful tips: Reserve early on Turo for the best selection, especially during peak seasons. Choose a vehicle that suits your planned activities, whether it's a compact car for city driving or an SUV for exploring nearby national parks. Look for extras like GPS navigation or a backup camera to enhance your driving experience. Consider a vehicle with all-wheel drive if you plan to venture into the nearby mountains. Remember to check for features like Apple CarPlay or Android Auto for seamless connectivity during your Clovis adventure.

Additionally, nearby Fresno Yosemite International Airport, located in Fresno, California, is a common meeting point for many hosts on Turo, offering a convenient option for those flying into the region. Remember to communicate with your host on Turo to arrange the most suitable pickup location for your rental car in Clovis.
Clovis offers several picturesque driving routes that showcase California's diverse beauty. The nearby Sierra National Forest provides stunning mountain vistas and winding roads through lush forests. Heading east, you can explore the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, passing through charming towns and orchards. For a unique experience, consider a drive to Sequoia National Park, where you'll encounter giant redwoods and breathtaking overlooks. These routes are perfect for a day trip or weekend getaway in your rental car. Remember to check your vehicle's comfort features before embarking on longer journeys, ensuring a pleasant drive through the Golden State's natural wonders.
Navigating peak hour traffic in Clovis and nearby Fresno requires some strategic planning. Utilize alternate routes to avoid congested main arteries, such as taking Shaw Avenue instead of Herndon Avenue during busy periods. Consider adjusting your travel schedule to avoid the busiest times, typically between 7-9 AM and 4-6 PM on weekdays. Local radio stations provide regular traffic updates, helping you stay informed about potential bottlenecks. Many Clovis residents find that renting a smaller, more maneuverable car can make city driving easier during rush hours. Remember to allow extra time for your journey and stay patient – California drivers are generally courteous if you need to change lanes.
Downtown Clovis offers several convenient parking options for visitors. The Old Town area features ample street parking along Pollasky Avenue and surrounding streets, perfect for those looking to explore local shops and restaurants. For longer stays, consider the public parking lots near Clovis Avenue and Fourth Street, which provide free parking for extended periods. During busy events like the Clovis Rodeo, temporary parking areas are often set up to accommodate the influx of visitors. When using your rental car in Clovis, always check parking signs for any time restrictions or special event regulations. Remember that some businesses in the area may offer validated parking for customers, so it's worth inquiring if you plan to spend time at a specific location.
For exploring Clovis and the surrounding Central Valley, versatile vehicles are ideal. A mid-size sedan offers a good balance of comfort and fuel efficiency for city driving and highway trips. If you're planning to venture into the nearby Sierra foothills or national parks, consider renting an SUV for its higher ground clearance and spacious interior. During summer months, when temperatures in Clovis can soar, opting for a vehicle with reliable air conditioning is crucial for comfortable travel. For those interested in the area's agricultural heritage, a vehicle with good visibility might enhance your experience when driving past the region's vast orchards and farmlands. Whatever type you choose, ensure it suits your specific itinerary and passenger needs.
Driving safely in Clovis during extreme heat requires extra precautions. Always check your rental car's cooling system and tire pressure before setting out, as high temperatures can affect these components. Carry plenty of water for yourself and passengers, and plan your route to include stops in air-conditioned locations for breaks from the heat. When parking, use sunshades and try to find shaded spots to keep the car's interior cooler. Be aware that hot pavement can cause tire blowouts, so avoid sudden movements and maintain a steady speed. In Clovis, where summer temperatures often exceed 100°F, it's wise to limit driving during the hottest parts of the day if possible. Remember, heat can affect your concentration, so stay alert and take regular breaks during longer journeys.
When driving around Clovis, you'll be pleased to know that there are no toll roads or bridges in the immediate vicinity. The Central Valley area, including Clovis and neighboring Fresno, primarily consists of free public highways and local roads. This makes exploring the region in your rental car both convenient and cost-effective. However, if you're planning a longer trip to coastal areas like San Francisco, be aware that you may encounter toll bridges and roads. In Clovis itself, you can enjoy driving without worrying about unexpected toll charges. This freedom allows you to focus on experiencing the local attractions and scenic routes around the city without additional travel expenses.
Driving in Clovis often feels more relaxed compared to navigating Fresno's busier streets. Clovis boasts wider lanes and a more spread-out layout, making it easier to maneuver your rental car. Traffic in Clovis tends to be lighter, especially in residential areas. Fresno, being larger, has more complex road systems and heavier traffic, particularly during rush hours. Parking is generally more abundant and often free in Clovis, while Fresno may require more patience to find spots, especially downtown. Clovis's road signage is typically clearer and easier to follow for visitors. However, both cities share similar driving laws and speed limits. When transitioning between the two, be prepared for a change in pace and remain alert to the different driving environments.
Planning a road trip from Clovis to nearby national parks is an excellent way to experience California's natural beauty. Start by ensuring your rental car is suitable for mountain driving, as roads can be winding and steep. Pack essentials like snacks, water, and a physical map as backup. From Clovis, you can easily access Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia National Parks. Each offers unique landscapes, from towering sequoias to dramatic granite cliffs. Plan your route to include scenic stops and small towns along the way for a true California road trip experience. Remember to check park conditions and potential entry requirements before your journey. With Clovis as your starting point, you're well-positioned to explore some of the most stunning natural wonders California has to offer.
