One of the most frustrating rental experiences I’ve ever had. Avoid.
Renting this Tesla through Resla via Turo was an absolute nightmare from start to finish.
First, the pickup process is absurdly overcomplicated. There is no physical key option whatsoever. You’re forced into a maze of virtual keys that require downloading apps, creating accounts, verifying identity for through third party apps aside from Turo, and even adding additional credit card information just to unlock the car. This isn’t “modern” or “streamlined” — it’s clunky, time-wasting, and completely unnecessary.
Then comes the rigidity. Despite the car being fully ready and them literally offering to open the vehicle so I could sit inside, they refused to let me drive away until the exact minute of my reservation start time. I’m not exaggerating — my suitcase was loaded, I was sitting in the driver’s seat, and I had to wait 20 minutes doing nothing until the clock hit 12:30. That’s not policy, that’s pettiness disguised as rules.
And just when you think you’re done jumping through hoops, surprise — hidden fees. After booking, they disclose that a parking fee exists. Only after pickup do you learn the actual amount. To exit the parking garage, I was forced to pay an additional $35 out of pocket, on top of everything already paid to the rental company. Zero transparency.
This entire experience felt hostile, inflexible, and designed to offload inconvenience onto the customer. If you value your time, your sanity, or a smooth rental experience, do not rent from Resla. There are plenty of other turo rentals out there that don’t treat customers like obstacles.
