The car was nice but Randy didn’t give many details on how to pick it up. It was my first time using the app and driving a tesla so it was a little confusing.

I would not rent from this host again. The car itself is fine—it drives well, brakes are good, and it matches the listing with normal wear and tear. But the overall experience is brought down by poor host management.
The car smells strongly like cigarette smoke. As a former smoker, I can tell this isn’t a one-time thing—it smells like it’s been consistently smoked in. I saw this mentioned in another review and assumed it would’ve been addressed, but it wasn’t.
The Tesla is also locked in “chill” mode, which significantly limits power. I asked if it could be unlocked and never got a response, so the car ends up feeling underwhelming. On top of that, the car chimes constantly—for everything. It feels like the settings are overly restrictive or sensitive, because it’s alerting you every few minutes regardless of what you’re doing, which gets annoying fast.
Communication was the biggest issue. The host replied once on day one, then stopped responding completely. I asked about the smell, the cracked moonroof, driving mode, and whether I needed to fully charge the car before returning it—no replies. I even messaged saying I was on my way and would stop to charge just in case, still nothing. Most messages felt automated.
Pickup and drop-off are manageable, but instructions are vague—especially for parking if you’re not familiar with the setup.
Price-wise, it’s fair, and the car itself is decent. But the host experience matters, and this one falls short. Other reviews pointed out similar issues, and in hindsight, those were accurate.
We have a large fleet and had previously indicated if you need immediate assistance to call. The vehicle is in chill at 95mph. It’s illegal to drive that fast anywhere in the state and we do not want our vehicle used for wreckless driving or racing. Everybody limits their Tesla’s but it’s still a great ride. I apologize for the smoke smell, we have no control over what guests do in our vehicles even though it is a violation of Turo’s TOS.

Sadly, I was really excited to rent this car but upon arrival it smelled from cigars and a chemical freshener scent which made me nauseous and dizzy. I had to return the car immediately.
The vehicle had no smoke smell. My partner and I both drove the vehicle and smelled nothing. We also have no control over what previous guests do in our vehicles.

Honestly, one of the best experiences renting a car, very clean and one of the easiest pick up and drop off. Very responsive owner. Im most likely to only rent from him moving forward.
