In mid-November, nearly 500 Power Hosts from all over the US, Canada, and the UK came to Austin, Texas for the first annual Power Host Summit. This was our largest host event ever and the first multi-day Turo host conference. The summit brought together some of the most dependable, ambitious, and accomplished hosts on Turo for a special two-day conference, exclusively for Power Hosts.
Business insights and connection
The summit was packed with interactive sessions, new feature announcements, and panel discussions with Turo leadership and Power Hosts offering valuable business insights. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with other Power Hosts from around the world and chat with the Turo team.
The conference opened and closed with mixer events and was held at Fair Market, a one-of-a-kind, indoor/outdoor event space in vibrant East Austin. There was live music and DJ sets, on-site food trucks served up local Austin favorites, and attendees had their picture taken in a branded photo booth.
Throughout the event, Power Hosts visited booths staffed by Turo employees to share ideas, participate in various activities, meet their Host Success Manager, and join OpenRoad to take a stand on the most pressing issues affecting peer-to-peer car sharing today.
Event highlights
Programming highlights included special announcements, exciting product updates, and the first annual Turo Host Awards.
Power Hosts were the first to learn that Book Instantly will be the standard for all bookings starting in the first half of 2024. So, instead of guests requesting to book a car and the host needing to manually approve the booking, trips will automatically be approved with Book Instantly. In preparation for this change, two new features will help give hosts more control over their settings. New location-based trip duration settings just launched, and starting this winter, hosts will be able to set unique pickup and return hours for their home and delivery locations.
We also announced the launch of hosting teams, the new co-hosting tools that allow hosts to securely and efficiently partner with friends, family members, and employees.
And to celebrate some of the extraordinary hosts who have gone above and beyond for the Turo community, we announced the winners of the first annual Host Awards.
A big thanks to our sponsors
The official sponsors of the Power Host Summit were in attendance as well, with special deals and discounts exclusively for Turo hosts. A big thank you to Nissan, Tenet, Westlake Fleet, Carputty, LULA, Spiffy Smart Tumbler, and America First Credit Union for helping to make this amazing event possible.
See you next year!
Thanks to all the amazing Power Hosts who attended this year’s event and helped make it so special. Next year’s Power Host Summit will take place in fall 2024, in a new location that we’ll announce next summer. See you then!
