Thank you Aus for being a great host. You made it so easy for us from start to finish. The vehicle was pristine and we felt very safe and comfortable driving the vehicle that was in such a good condition. Our 3 day trip could not have been so memorable without the vehicle. Thank you once again and we look forward to using your service for our future trips.

Van was great, could’ve perhaps been cleaner upon pickup but was more than okay for purpose. Pickup was relatively easy, could be simplified a bit or there could be more communication regarding pickup process and vehicle location.

I'm from Hong Kong. This is my first time renting this 12-seater car in Sydney through this website. I rented it for eight days. The location was very convenient, the price was very reasonable, and the pickup and return process was extremely simple — I was very pleasantly surprised. Whenever I had questions, they communicated with me through the chat function on the Turo app. For a first-time user of this app, it's easy to get confused, but luckily there was a staff member to explain things during pickup. The car was exactly as described in the photos. I hope they can add more pickup locations in the future.

Top tips for renting a van in Campsie

Book your van rental early on Turo to secure the best vehicle for your Sydney exploration needs. Look for vans with cargo space suitable for your planned activities, whether you're moving furniture, transporting sports equipment, or taking family camping gear to nearby national parks. Consider extras like GPS navigation systems and backup cameras to help navigate Sydney's busy streets, plus ensure your chosen van hire includes adequate seating for your group size.

Frequently asked questions in Campsie

Why choose a van for your Campsie adventure?

Vans offer exceptional cargo space for exploring Campsie and surrounding New South Wales areas, making them perfect for transporting sports equipment, camping gear, or shopping finds. Van hire provides the flexibility to carry larger groups comfortably while maintaining excellent visibility for navigating Campsie's suburban streets. These vehicles excel at accommodating both passengers and luggage, ensuring your adventure isn't limited by space constraints.

What should first-time van drivers expect in New South Wales?

Van rental requires a standard car licence in New South Wales, making the transition straightforward for most drivers. First-time van drivers should expect a higher driving position that provides better road visibility around Campsie and nearby areas. The wider turning radius means taking corners more gradually, while the increased height requires awareness when approaching low clearance areas.

How do you park a van in busy Campsie streets?

Van parking in Campsie requires identifying spaces that accommodate the vehicle's length and height, particularly in shopping centres and residential areas. Look for designated van parking spots or choose end spaces in car parks where manoeuvring is easier. Practise reversing techniques before your van hire period, as rear visibility differs significantly from standard cars when navigating tight Campsie streets.

Which van works best for families versus groups?

Family van rental typically benefits from models with multiple seating configurations and ample cargo space for strollers, sports equipment, and luggage during Campsie outings. Group rental situations often require larger vans with higher passenger capacity, prioritising seating over cargo area. Consider your primary needs — families usually need storage flexibility while groups focus on comfortable seating for everyone.

How can you stay comfortable on long van journeys?

Van comfort depends on proper seat adjustment and regular breaks, especially when exploring areas beyond Campsie throughout New South Wales. Ensure adequate ventilation and pack essentials within easy reach of the driver and passengers. The elevated seating position in most hired vans naturally provides better views and reduces fatigue compared to lower vehicles during extended drives.

What van safety features matter most for new drivers?

Van safety priorities include parking sensors and reversing cameras, which prove invaluable when manoeuvring in tight Campsie parking areas. Electronic stability control helps manage the different handling characteristics compared to regular cars, particularly important for rental drivers unfamiliar with van dynamics. Always check mirror positioning and blind spot awareness, as vans have different visibility patterns than standard vehicles.

What protection plan options does Turo offer?

When booking a car in Australia, you'll choose between the Premier (if available), Standard, and Minimum protection plans. Each plan includes varying limits on financial responsibility for damage to a host's vehicle. All trips include up to $20,000,000 (per event) in legal liability protection. Legal liability protection protects against damage to other people's property and death or bodily injury (where the legal liability is not covered or capable of being covered by any statutory or compulsory scheme) as a result of an accident involving the vehicle. All protection is provided by Turo Travels Mutual.*

What documents and paperwork do you need to rent a car on Turo?

To book a car on Turo in Australia, you must create a Turo account, be 21 years old or older, have a valid driver's licence, and get approved to drive on Turo. When you're booking your first trip, you'll go through a quick approval process by entering your driver's licence and some other information. In most cases, you'll get approved immediately, and you'll be set for every future road trip, business trip, and family holiday!
